Hello L&C Students!

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), a national campaign aimed at raising awareness about sexual assault and preventing sexual violence. From believing survivors to advocating for policy changes, we all have a role in ending sexual violence in our communities, both here at Lewis & Clark and in our hometowns. Here's how you can get involved this April on campus:

  • Paper Chain Project & Chalk the Block: Share your anonymous responses to prompts about supporting survivors and creating a safer community. Follow our Instagram @lclark_wellness to find the final date and time!
  • Denim Day: Join us in wearing denim on the last Wednesday of April, 4/30, to stand in solidarity with survivors. Stop by the Health Promotion and Wellness table in Watzek for more information on creating a consent-centered campus.

Remember, campus resources are available if you or someone you know experiences an unwanted situation. Title IX provides supportive measures and information on the formal complaint process. Confidential Advocates, Counseling Services, and Spiritual Life offer confidential support for those who don’t want to engage with Title IX.

Until next time, friends!

The Scoop This Week

Leadership Transition in Student Life

Hello L&C Students!

My name is Dr. Ben Meoz, Associate Vice President for Campus Life and Senior Associate Dean of Students.

Welcome back from Spring break as we begin the quick pivot into April and the last few weeks of the academic year. That last push is packed with exciting community events, end of the year celebrations, and future focused milestones like Fall semester class registration and on-campus housing room selection for next year.

Additionally, starting this month I will begin serving as your Interim Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students. I am greatly looking forward to connecting with many of you in this new capacity, as well as closing out this academic year with our campus community.

I’ll be holding pop-ups and open hours around campus throughout the final weeks of the year, and I encourage you to come by those hours or pop into the VPSL office in East Hall to say hi. And if you have questions or would like to set up time to connect, don’t hesitate to email vpsl@lclark.edu.

Ben Meoz,

Associate Vice President for Campus Life and Senior Associate Dean of Students
