Welcome to the New Academic Year!
Guest Columnist: Dr. Evette Castillo Clark
Tuesday, September 5, 2023

Dear Students,

I am excited to greet a new academic year at Lewis & Clark College! It has been really fun to say hello to many continuing students and to welcome those of you who are brand-new to our campus community. To our newest students, you have found an enthusiastic, caring, collaborative, fun-loving place that I hope feels very soon like home—if it doesn’t already. And to those of you returning to campus, I hope you are having as much fun reuniting with each other as I am reuniting with you.

Everyone in the division of student life is here to support you and your college experience. We want you to succeed. We want you to thrive. I encourage you to get to know those of us who work in Student Life. Check out our website. Come to my campus office hours too that I hold regularly throughout the semester, in the Trail Room. And read The Bark weekly so that you know what’s happening on campus!

I’m looking forward to a great year with all of you!

Enjoy the start of fall term,
Evette Castillo Clark, Ed.D.
Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students
