Stewardship

 There’s Still Time!

At our last report, we have received pledges totaling $339,413! That is 89% of our goal of $380,000! This is a wonderful display of the generosity of our congregation

But while we are close to our goal, there remains a gap of over $40,000 between pledges received so far and the expected cost to do all the work of the church planned for in 2026. In order not to leave anything undone, we ask that you prayerfully consider making a pledge for this year. Sharing the gifts we have received from God expresses our gratitude for those gifts.

You can make your pledge by filling out a pledge card available in the church or click the link here.

Thank you,

Stewardship Commission

The Interim Pastor Search Committee

The Interim Pastor Search Committee resumed its dialog with our current candidate following the Christmas and Epiphany holidays. Additionally, the committee has arranged for conversations between the candidate and some of our staff. We have reached out to our presbytery again to identify additional candidates as well as implementing a wider search process. We will report progress in our search as it develops.

Thank you,

Interim Pastor Search Committee

The Mission Commission is hosting the fellowship hour after church on Sunday to thank the congregation for their generosity to the many Mission-associated activities in 2025. It is due to your care and generous giving that we can reach so many in our local and even international communities.

Our HOME guests will be with us Feb. 8 - 15

“Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?

I have heard you calling in the night.

I will go Lord, if you lead me.

I will hold your people in my heart.”

These are the words of the hymn we sang together last Sunday during our church service. It was a fitting hymn in the context of Keith’s sermon in which he urged us to do as he has done time and time again – hear God’s call and respond. Sometimes the call is a whisper – a thin moment. Sometimes the ask is scary, inconvenient, hard.

But it is doable! Our loving God makes all things possible when

His people are being held in our hearts.

We have the opportunity to answer the call of our God in just a couple of weeks when families through HOME of Somerset County, Inc. will live in our Cave and be welcomed, served, and cared for by our members the week of February 8-15.

Will you “go Lord?”

Will you “hold His people in your heart?”

If so, sign up here on Sign up Genius to host or make dinners

The Membership Commission needs coffee hour hosts for Sundays. A new sign-up calendar is posted in the fellowship/reception area. We supply the coffee, you supply the snacks. The first Sunday of each month is hosted by the Membership Fellowship commission, but there are many “golden” opportunities to get together with friends and host a coffee hour.

Dishes

On January 25th Church Dishes will be available until noon in the preschool room to anyone who would like some. There are plates, cups and saucers. The dishes have not been used in at least 5 years but have been taken out annually and washed by hand and plastic-wrapped prior to our annual kitchen inspection by county officials. They are taking up all available kitchen cabinet space which is much needed and everyone hosting events recently has chosen to use disposables, as washing the dishes by hand before and after use by health guidelines is quite a daunting process.

BBPC Food Pantry has an Amazon WishList!

Thanks to the continued support and donations from the BBPC congregation, the Sunday Food Pantry is able to provide food and non-food items to approximately 140 families every week. In addition to leaving donations on the pew in the parking lot vestibule, BBPC members can now donate to the pantry through the newly established, easy to use Sunday Food Pantry Amazon WishList. Simply click on the link and purchase an item, or several, from the list. Donations will be delivered to the BBPC office. If you have any questions please reach out to Sharon Dougherty at the BBPC office or Diane Gilson at 908-208-6698.

DONATIONS MUST BE SENT TO THE CHURCH

Your support for our wish list is amazing! Packages have been coming in each week and we can't thank you enough.

Thanks again!

Life saving surgery/liver donation

I am writing with all the hope in the world to find someone who can help me with a life saving surgery. My name is Alejandro Vazquez Rojas, a Bound Brook Community Member since September 2004 to Present. I have established my roots in this community that I love so much. Today, I am asking one more time for my community and the church for help. I am battling advanced end-stage liver disease, and one of my treatment options is to receive a liver donation from a living donor. I would greatly appreciate the church if the church family could spread the word and share this website which provides more information about living liver donation that my loved ones created to spread the word .
