Stewardship

With God all things are possible

As we approach our Annual Meeting we have achieved a pledge total of $344,223 which is 91% of our goal. Many thanks are given to the 90 members of our church family who have stepped out in faith with their pledge for this year. And we certainly welcome individuals to continue to submit pledges and look forward to your support. Cards are available in the church for you to fill out and drop on the plate during the offering at worship. You can make your pledge by filling out a pledge card available in the church or click the link here or scan the QR code.

Thank you so much for your continued generosity!

Stewardship Commission

The Interim Pastor Search Committee

The Interim Pastor Search Committee continues its work that will lead to bringing an interim pastor to BBPC. The meetings between some of our staff and our current candidate last week were fruitful and helped to show yet another aspect of the strengths that BBPC has to offer for our position. We will continue to report progress in our search as it develops.

Thank you,

Interim Pastor Search Committee

PLEASE NOTE:

The Annual Congregational Meeting will be streamed

live only on the BBPC Website (www.bbpc.org)

It will not be recorded.

What do you worry about?

Can you imagine not having a home?

We have the opportunity to help those who don't have a home, to go where God leads us and shine our light, to be relevant, in just one week when families through HOME of Somerset County, Inc. will live in our Cave and be welcomed, served, and cared for by our members the week of February 8-15.

Me? Really? Yes, you!

This team, led by a member of the Board of Deacons, fields requests from our church members and neighbors for short-term, emergency financial help. This is the team that makes sure your generous donations to the Deacons’ Fund provide a real and positive impact in our community.

The Team is looking for ordained members of the church who would be willing to “vet” the incoming requests and make a recommendation on if/how we might help. The job requires being comfortable talking with folks in need and with leaders of other charitable organizations with whom we partner at times. It can also involve speaking with community service organizations and creditors to get a full picture of the person’s situation. It also requires maintaining confidentiality for the person requesting help.

Training on the process we use for vetting will be provided. When a request for help comes in, an available BG Team member will be asked to shepherd the request – doing the vetting and writing up a recommendation. The number of requests coming to the Deacons fluctuates, but any team member might handle one or two requests each month. However, the more people we have on the team, the less often each member will be asked to take a case!

Please prayerfully consider serving in this capacity.

If you would like to join our Team,

please contact Barbara Heller at bjheller73@yahoo.com.

Thanks to the Volunteers

for the Gym Project

Our wonderful new staff person, Steve Turiak, and I met the rental company and brought the scissors lift into the PCC gym. Steve and John Almendinger replaced ceiling batteries in the smoke detectors. Then the well muscled guys from Damon House brought the new basketball backboards out of storage. Five guys from the Friday night bball group removed the old backboards and installed the new..

As our grand finale, Mark von Bradsky, a mechanical engineer, went back up to the

ceiling—removed some tiles and took measurements to determine whether the roof could bear the weight of an air-conditioning unit. Wayne Fabricius and I supervised from the safety of the floor. You know—there are a variety of gifts. Steve now is an expert lift operator. Thanks to all. Brooks Smith

Dishes Giveaway - POSTPONED

Church Dishes will be available at a date to be determined.

There are plates, cups and saucers. The dishes have not been used in at least 5 years but have been taken out annually and washed by hand and plastic-wrapped prior to our annual kitchen inspection by county officials. They are taking up all available kitchen cabinet space which is much needed and everyone hosting events recently has chosen to use disposables, as washing the dishes by hand before and after use by health guidelines is quite a daunting process.

The Membership Commission needs coffee hour hosts for Sundays. A new sign-up calendar is posted in the fellowship/reception area. We supply the coffee, you supply the snacks. The first Sunday of each month is hosted by the Membership Fellowship commission, but there are many “golden” opportunities to get together with friends and host a coffee hour.

BBPC Food Pantry has an Amazon WishList!

Thanks to the continued support and donations from the BBPC congregation, the Sunday Food Pantry is able to provide food and non-food items to approximately 140 families every week. In addition to leaving donations on the pew in the parking lot vestibule, BBPC members can now donate to the pantry through the newly established, easy to use Sunday Food Pantry Amazon WishList. Simply click on the link and purchase an item, or several, from the list. Donations will be delivered to the BBPC office. If you have any questions please reach out to Sharon Dougherty at the BBPC office or Diane Gilson at 908-208-6698.

DONATIONS MUST BE SENT TO THE CHURCH

Your support for our wish list is amazing! Packages have been coming in each week and we can't thank you enough.

Thanks again!

Life saving surgery/liver donation

I am writing with all the hope in the world to find someone who can help me with a life saving surgery. My name is Alejandro Vazquez Rojas, a Bound Brook Community Member since September 2004 to Present. I have established my roots in this community that I love so much. Today, I am asking one more time for my community and the church for help. I am battling advanced end-stage liver disease, and one of my treatment options is to receive a liver donation from a living donor. I would greatly appreciate the church if the church family could spread the word and share this website which provides more information about living liver donation that my loved ones created to spread the word .
