Interim Pastor Committee Status Report

As we last reported, the committee met with our candidate at their home church on Sunday. We attended Sunday worship and then met with the candidate for continued conversation. All of our committee members viewed both our one-on-one discussions as well as the candidate's worship service in a very positive way. We will continue to report our progress. A summary of Highland Presbytery's overall process for finding the interim pastor is available here.

Interim Pastor Search Committee:

Keith Bellamy, TJ Blazek, Jamie Breeding, Jill Demouth, Cheryl Dolida, Sal Lalama, Cori Peloso

You can pick up a pledge card that is available at the church, and, after filling it out, please drop it on the plate during the offering at worship. Or you can submit your pledge online with this link or with the QR code here.

EVENTS

We will be hosting families

November 30 - December 7

Help. HELP. Make that HELP!!!!! Yes, we have serious staffing needs for the HOME folks that will be sheltered at our church the week of 11/30. As Taylor Gram reminded us in church yesterday, the church is not the pastor. The church is not the building. The church is all of us!!!! And we need people to welcome and care for the homeless family, perhaps another, that will be living with us from Sunday, 11/30 through Sunday morning, 12/7. Specifically, our needs are:

Snacks - see sign up below

Sunday 11/30 - 1 setup personal 11:15 after church

Monday 12/1 – 1 person for the 5-8 shift

Tuesday 12/2 – 1 person for the 5-8 shift

Wednesday/Thursday – WE ARE GOOD! Yay church!!

Friday 12/5 – 1 person for the 5-8 shift

Saturday 12/6 – 1 overnight person from 8pm to 8am

Sunday 12/7 – 1 cleanup person before Sunday School from 8am-9am

A birdie tells me that the person who organizes and makes this program happen every few months at BBPC, holds the entire week open. Why? So that she can cover all the shifts that are not covered by members of the church. Really? We cannot let that happen!

If we are the church, then we need to fill these slots. It is easy to do. Open The Buzz. Go to the HOME sign up section and, voila, there you will be able to pick the slot that works best for you.

Providing a warm and welcoming place for these families without homes is doing exactly what Jesus has asked us to do when he reminded us, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of the brothers or sisters of mine, you did for me.”

By taking a shift, you will not only do as we have been asked to do by Jesus, but you will feel proud and fulfilled. You will be the church!

ADVENT DEVOTIONAL

DRAW NEAR – BBPC Advent 2025

Advent asks us not to hurry, but to draw near. Near to God, near to one another, and near to the small signs of hope, peace, joy, and love already taking shape around us. This devotional from Presbyterian Outlook invites us to slow down, pay attention, and notice how God keeps showing up in the ordinary. At BBPC, we will journey through Advent together — in worship, at our Soup Suppers, and in our daily reflections — trusting that the God who draws near to us will lead us forward with grace.

BBPC Food Pantry now has an Amazon WishList!

Thanks to the continued support and donations from the BBPC congregation, the Sunday Food Pantry is able to provide food and non-food items to approximately 140 families every week. In addition to leaving donations on the pew in the parking lot vestibule, BBPC members can now donate to the pantry through the newly established, easy to use Sunday Food Pantry Amazon WishList. Simply click on the link and purchase an item, or several, from the list. Donations will be delivered to the BBPC office. If you have any questions please reach out to Sharon Dougherty at the BBPC office or Diane Gilson at 908-208-6698.

DONATIONS MUST BE SENT TO THE CHURCH

Your support for our wish list is amazing! Packages have been coming in each week and we can't thank you enough.

Thanks again!

The After Hours Women's Bible Study:

Finding Resilience, Joy, and Our Identity in Jesus Christ by Rhashell D. Hunter

“How do we find our resilience and joy in the midst of stressful life circumstances?

By reconnecting to our spirituality, following women in the Bible, and studying
