Volleyball Volunteers Needed

If you are a volleyball parent, love the game of volleyball, or just want to serve at Heritage, we are looking for volunteers to be line judges, run the scoreboard, and work concessions at our volleyball games. All the jobs are easy to learn and any training needed before the game can be provided. If you would like to volunteer, please use the sign-up genius link below. High school students can also volunteer in any of these roles for silver cord hours.

Basketball Coaches and Assistant Cheer Coach Needed

We are currently seeking coaches for the following positions:

  • 5th/6th girls
  • 5th/6th boys
  • Assistant cheer coach (ideally who would like to be the head coach next year)

We are looking for individuals who would like to help us fulfill the following athletic goals:

  1. Compete in a God-glorifying manner
  2. Develop Christ-like character in student athletes
  3. Develop and refine fundamental skills

Sports Update

Cross Country Recap

On Monday, the cross-country team wrapped up their season at the IDE conference meet. The meet was hosted by Trinity Davenport, which is a challenging course with lots of hills and turns. Each Heritage runner improved their time from when they raced there at the beginning of the season. We had three top 10 finishers. Vera Griffin and Lydia Reed placed first and second running times of 16:11 and 16:21 respectively in the Varsity 2-mile girls race, while Levi Kallemeyn ran 14:07 and placed 8th in the Varsity boys 2-mile race. Thank you to our three 8th grade leaders of Levi Kallemeyn, Josh Stamp, and Lydia Reed.

Soccer Recap

The soccer teams wrapped up their season on Saturday with the conference tournament. Despite both teams having only one sub, they played hard and worked together. The JV team found themselves playing in the consolation bracket with a loss the night before. They played LIS and started scoring quickly and often. They won 10-0. In the 5th place game, they faced Trinity Cedar Rapids and won 4-2. On the Varsity side, Heritage played the #1 seed and undefeated team of Trinity Davenport. Despite lots of stops and holding them off for much of the 1st half, the Eagles fell 0-3. In the 3rd place Varsity game, the Eagles faced INCA, who they had previously lost to in the regular season. This time, the shots were finding the back of the net and the Eagles won 7-2. It was a great day to see the teams demonstrate great sportsmanship and cheer on their teammates to success! Thank you to our 8th grade athletes Luther Anderson, Kaylin Jumper, Levi Kallemeyn, and Jaxson Mitchell for leading the Eagles these past four years!
