Christmas Choir Concert - Tuesday, Dec 17



Concert Arrival

• The Christmas Choir Concert will be Tuesday night, Dec. 17 from 7-8pm. Students need to arrive at 6:40pm. All participating students should put coats in their lockers and report to Mrs. McDonald's classroom/hallway outside Mrs. McDonald's room.

Dress Code

Students should dress up more than they would for a normal day of school or activity in an effort to create a professional mood for the concert. Students' concert dress should also align with the school's dress code guidelines listed in the Handbook's dress code section.

Important: 5th-8th grade students will receive a discipline slip if they do not meet dress code for this performance; for all other students, parents will be notified.



While the choir performance includes 2nd-8th grade students (Heritage Singers and all 4th graders), all families are invited to attend to celebrate the birth of our Savior!

Dress Up Days

Student Council has decided on some dress up days before Christmas break next week. All students are welcome to participate!

Monday, Dec 16 - Christmas PJ Day

Wednesday, Dec 18 - Christmas Color Day

• PreK-5th - wear any Christmas color
• 6th - White
• 7th - Red
• 8th - Green

Friday, Dec 20 - Christmas Sweater and/or Hat Day

Annual Fund Update

Praise God our Annual Fund total continues to grow! If you haven't taken the opportunity to support this important campaign, we encourage you to do so before the end of the year. Thank you for your continued support and generosity! As of today, we've raised $21439.97!

Heritage Gala!

Our Heritage Gala (Educating for Eternity) fundraiser will be here before you know it! Mark your calendars, purchase your tickets, and invite your friends! More information will be coming after Christmas break.

Winter Weather Information



1.   A text message via Parent Alert will be sent out to inform of a school closure or delay. If you provided your cell phone information to the school, you should receive these messages.

2.   When checking for closures/delays on local media, please look specifically for information on Heritage Christian School. While our decisions are often the same as Iowa City School District and Clear Creek Amana, they are not ALWAYS the same.

3.   Decisions to delay or cancel will be made no later than 6:30 AM. If it is determined that a late start is necessary, please continue to watch the news. If weather conditions do not improve, school will be cancelled by 8:30 AM.

4.   In the event of early dismissal due to weather or other emergency, parents will be notified through a text message via Parent Alert.

5.   Please make attendance decisions you are comfortable with. If you are concerned about traveling when driving conditions are poor or it is brutally cold, please make personal decisions accordingly.

6.   With a delayed start, we always do a 90 minute delay so please arrive between 9:30-9:40am. Classes will begin at 9:45am.

7.   When driving conditions are poor and school IS in session, we will not count students tardy allowing parents necessary travel time.

8.   Heritage Christian School does not normally close for cold temperatures.

Missions - Mrs. Pretorious & Kossigan

Please continue to pray for global workers Michael and Mary Pretorious and for our Compassion International sponsored child, Kossigan, from Togo. Students are welcome to contribute towards Kossigan’s sponsorship (through Compassion International) by giving money in their classrooms or the office. Thank you!
