Business Guide Update
We'd love to promote your business within the Heritage Community! It's been a couple of years since we've updated our Heritage Business Guide but if you own a business or are closely connected to a business that may be of service to other Heritage families in any way, please contact Brenda Wichhart at wichhartb@hcs-nl.com with details. As a Heritage family, we don't always know what everyone does so this is a great opportunity to be able to support one another and your businesses. Please contact Brenda by November 29th to be included in this listing of businesses owned and operated or used and trusted by parents, faculty, and staff. Our most recent copy of our Business Guide can be found here...please also let Brenda know if you see something that needs to be edited with our current information.

Missions - Mrs. Pretorious & Kossigan
Please continue to pray for global workers Michael and Mary Pretorious and for our Compassion International sponsored child, Kossigan, from Togo. Students are welcome to contribute towards Kossigan’s sponsorship (through Compassion International) by giving money in their classrooms or the office. Thank you!
“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
Please pray for:
· Protection (physical, spiritual, emotional, etc.)
· Boldness (to share Jesus authentically and powerfully)
· Peace (people of peace to help share the Good News)
· Assurance (that God is with them and is for them)

Sports Update
The Heritage volleyball teams both played in the conference tournaments this past Saturday, with the 5/6 team claiming runner up in the JV tournament, and the 7/8 team winning the Varsity tournament. The 5/6 team received a first round bye for being the second seed in the conference. In the semifinals they faced LIS, which was a team we had split with during the regular season. The Eagles had their best game of the season with great serving, several three passes before sending the ball over the net, and lots of communicating and hustling on the court. It took three sets to decide a winner, but the Eagles came out on top with scores of 25-21, 22-24, and 15-9. In the championship game the 5/6 girls faced a tough Cedar Rapids Trinity team that has not lost a game all season. Most every Trinity server that came to the line had hard and deep serves that were difficult to handle. The Eagles fell in two sets 11-25 and 5-25 to claim second place. The 7/8 Eagles team also received a first round bye for claiming first seed in the conference. The Eagles faced Central in the semifinal match. Despite knowing we have had to go to three sets with this team both times in the regular season and missing a key 8th grade leader, the girls didn’t let it phase them. The girls took care of business and when the game got close, they remained calm, winning in two sets 25-19 and 25-17. Heritage and Trinity Davenport (the top two seeded teams) met for the championship game. The Eagles were back to their regular rotation with a complete team for this match. The Eagles built a lead fairly early in the first set and never looked back, winning 25-13. In the second set, the girls were down 0-4, but they remained calm. After siding out, Grace Barnes went on a serving run, serving 10 in a row to bring the score to 11-5. The girls continued to serve, hit, and block with intensity the rest of the game and won 25-14. Kaelyn Van Otterloo lead the team with 9 kills and 4 blocks for the day. Grace Barnes led the team in serves with six over the course of both matches. A big thanks to our four 8th grade leaders, Grace Barnes, Adelyn Hunter, Penny Marks, and Kaelyn Van Otterloo. Each one of them played key roles, whether it was on or off the court, to make this such a successful season. They will be missed next year. Way to go Eagles for such a great season!
