News and Updates from HCS

You should have received an email earlier this week regarding a bullying survey from the Board. If you haven't had a chance to fill that out, please do so by Monday, September 17th.
Text Updates

If you are new to Heritage this year, we use a notification system through Renweb called Parent Alert. This allows us to send text message to the entire school body for weather related closings and delays, emergencies, last minute information, etc. All parents will receive these texts so please make sure the office has your current cell phone number so you are able to receive these alerts.

In addition, if you would like to receive additional text updates for special event reminders and other all school updates through Parent Alert and didn't already indicate so on your volunteer form, please send an email to Brenda Wichhart in the office ( to be added to the group. Just a heads up that if you sign yourself up, your spouse will also likely get the text update since they are both tied to your child's renweb account. If you have any questions, contact Brenda.

The program is intended to give each incoming family a contact for questions and information in order to make their experience of transitioning to Heritage as welcoming as possible. Volleyball Recap:
The 5/6 and 7/8 Heritage volleyball teams took on the Pathway Panthers last Monday. After getting over the first game jitters, the 5/6 team settled down, working hard to consistently serve the ball over the net. They pulled away in the first set to win 25-14. The second set, they lost 11-25, but came back strong with good focus to win the final set and match. The 7/8 grade team faced a team who served strong and consistent. While the ladies battled back a couple times from behind and had some controlled 3 passes (pass, set, hit), the Eagles fell to the Panthers in all three sets, 15-25, 22-25, and 11-15.
On Tuesday, both volleyball teams took on the Central Lutheran Cougars. The 5/6 girls showed improvement in their communication and hustle and came away with the win in all three sets, 25-16, 25-19, and 15-11. The 7/8 grade team continued to work on passing the ball to the setter to set up for a pass, but the offense of the Cougars was too much, and the Eagles lost two of the three sets, with scores of 20-25, 17-25, and 15-13. After back-to-back games, we are looking forward to getting back in the gym and improving our skills for the rest of the season.
