The 5/6 and 7/8 Heritage volleyball teams took on the Pathway Panthers last Monday. After getting over the first game jitters, the 5/6 team settled down, working hard to consistently serve the ball over the net. They pulled away in the first set to win 25-14. The second set, they lost 11-25, but came back strong with good focus to win the final set and match. The 7/8 grade team faced a team who served strong and consistent. While the ladies battled back a couple times from behind and had some controlled 3 passes (pass, set, hit), the Eagles fell to the Panthers in all three sets, 15-25, 22-25, and 11-15.
On Tuesday, both volleyball teams took on the Central Lutheran Cougars. The 5/6 girls showed improvement in their communication and hustle and came away with the win in all three sets, 25-16, 25-19, and 15-11. The 7/8 grade team continued to work on passing the ball to the setter to set up for a pass, but the offense of the Cougars was too much, and the Eagles lost two of the three sets, with scores of 20-25, 17-25, and 15-13. After back-to-back games, we are looking forward to getting back in the gym and improving our skills for the rest of the season.
