The Heritage Eagles took on Pathway in volleyball this past Tuesday. The 7
grade team played first. There was a lot of volleys back and forth. The girls did a great job working to control the ball to set it up for a hit. Despite the great improvement and teamwork, the Eagles fell to Pathway 11-25 and 17-25. In the 5
match, the first set found the girls struggling to find consistency with their serves and fell 23-25. In the second set, the girls did much better serving and persevered, coming from behind to win 27-25. In the deciding set, the girls got behind early. After some consistent serving, they got back in the game, but couldn’t hold off Pathway, eventually falling 10-15. The Eagles have had a great season and will look to finish it off with a tournament in a week.
The Heritage soccer team capped off their undefeated season with a 7-1 victory over INCA on Tuesday, October 8. Offensively the Eagles got off to a fast start and did not look back while the defense held INCA scoreless until the last few minutes of the game. With the win the Eagles’ final season record was 11-0-1 and included the tournament championship at the Central Lutheran Cougar Classic to start the season. The team this season was led by three 8
grade athletes; Eno Ituk, Idara Ituk, and Trey Schweitzer. Congratulations to all of the players and Coach Wells-Minthorn on a great season.
