Boxtops for Education

Did you know that over the course of last school year we earned $1,000 from Boxtops? That's 10,000 boxtops collected! Although the Boxtops for Education program is changing from "clipping" to "scanning" you can still earn cash for our school. Download the Boxtops app or visit boxtops4education.com for more details.
Weekly Prayer Group

If you are interested in joining a parent prayer group that meets once a week at 2:45pm in the school kitchen to pray for various needs of the school body, please contact Denise Liu at denisemliu@msn.com. The day of the week that they meet varies but she can add you to the email distribution list and you can join when you are able.
After School Supervisors Needed
Help spread the word among your friends, in the neighborhood, at your churches, and at work. If you know someone who loves working with kids and is looking for a part time job, send them our way. We're looking for additional After School Supervisors from 3:30 to 5:30pm each school day. This is a great opportunity for a college student to pick up some part time work (hourly rate is $12.00). Feel free to print out this flyer to share or post. If you or someone you know is interested, contact Lisa Turnbough ( turnboughl@hcs-nl.com).
Sports Update

Volleyball Recap:
The Heritage Eagles took on Pathway in volleyball this past Tuesday. The 7 th /8 th grade team played first. There was a lot of volleys back and forth. The girls did a great job working to control the ball to set it up for a hit. Despite the great improvement and teamwork, the Eagles fell to Pathway 11-25 and 17-25. In the 5 th /6 th match, the first set found the girls struggling to find consistency with their serves and fell 23-25. In the second set, the girls did much better serving and persevered, coming from behind to win 27-25. In the deciding set, the girls got behind early. After some consistent serving, they got back in the game, but couldn’t hold off Pathway, eventually falling 10-15. The Eagles have had a great season and will look to finish it off with a tournament in a week.

Soccer Recap:
The Heritage soccer team capped off their undefeated season with a 7-1 victory over INCA on Tuesday, October 8. Offensively the Eagles got off to a fast start and did not look back while the defense held INCA scoreless until the last few minutes of the game.  With the win the Eagles’ final season record was 11-0-1 and included the tournament championship at the Central Lutheran Cougar Classic to start the season. The team this season was led by three 8 th grade athletes; Eno Ituk, Idara Ituk, and Trey Schweitzer. Congratulations to all of the players and Coach Wells-Minthorn on a great season.
