Reminder about Morning Drop Off Procedures

To keep traffic flowing smoothly and our children safe, please keep in mind our morning drop off procedures.
  • Please pull ahead all the way to the fire hydrant or as far as possible along the fire lane before stopping to let your children out.
  • Keep the space between you and the car ahead of you at a minimum.
  • Do not get out of the vehicle to help your children. If you need to get out of the vehicle or your children happen to be moving at a snail's pace that day :-), please park in the parking lot.
  • Be patient when the line gets backed up during busy times and avoid pulling around other cars or stopping by the dumpster to let your children out.

Thanks for helping to keep everyone safe and happy!

School picture days are next Wednesday for PreK through 3rd graders and Thursday for 4th through 8th graders. If you would like to order pictures, please return the form and payment with your student on those days.

Pray for the Nations

October: Togo/Anani
Prayer Requests:
  • Pray for the church to be refined by rooting out syncretism, false teaching, and idolatry.
  • Pray for indigenous mission agencies to establish bases which send workers to an increasingly Muslim population.
  • Pray for an end to the evils of rampant child trafficking, prostitution, and exploitation of the poor.
  • Pray for Anani (our Compassion International sponsored child)…for his physical, emotional, and spiritual needs to be met (that he would have a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ).
Sports Update

It is that time of year... time to break out your life jackets…. I mean….winter coats and get ready for our winter sports season. The chill in the air means that basketball season is just around the corner. This year we will have 5/6 Boys Basketball, 5-8 Girls Basketball (playing at the 7/8 level), and 7/8 Boys Basketball, a 6-8 Cheerleading squad, and if there is enough interest we will have a 5 th grade Cheerleading squad as well. Our returning coaches include: Jim Turnbough (7/8 Boys Basketball Head Coach), Lisa Turnbough (7/8 Boys Basketball Assistant Coach), Matt Traetow (5/6 Boys Basketball Head Coach), Jeff Schweitzer (5/6 Boys Basketball Assistant Coach), and Bob Rotzoll (5/6 Boys Basketball Assistant Coach). Our new coaches joining the Eagles this year are: Norma Castillo (7/8 Girls Basketball Head Coach), Carolina Newton (Cheerleading Head Coach), and Ellie Tindall (Cheerleading Assistant Coach). If your student is planning to go out for either basketball or cheerleading, please e-mail Serah Snell at snells@hcs-nl.com and turn in all athletic forms and fees by Friday, November 2. Students can also sign up at the Athletic bulletin board next to the kitchen.

Volleyball Recap:
Both volleyball teams took on Trinity Lutheran Davenport. The 5 th /6 th team got down early in the first set; at one point they were down 10-21. But with strong serving and focus, they came back to within two, but fell 23-25. The girls continued working together the next two sets, winning both of them, 25-19 and 15-10 to win the match. The 7 th /8 th grade played in their last game of the season. They worked through injury and a changed line-up to continue to battle despite tough serves from the Tigers. The Eagles fell 15-25 and 22-25. The girls improved throughout the season, and we want to thank to Lydia Hunter, for her 8 th grade leadership!
