Dear SFX Families,

Over the past two weeks, while filling in for Mr. Watson, I’ve found myself reflecting often on just how grateful I am to be a part of this community.

For those of you who may not know, I have been a member of the SFX community for 15 years. Much of that time was spent as part of our junior high team, teaching 8th grade social studies, and both of my own children are proud graduates of St. Francis. This school has always held a special place in my heart, most especially because of the people who make up our staff.

As an administrator, I am blessed with the daily opportunity to witness the remarkable work happening in our classrooms, the compassion extended to students in moments of struggle, and the countless small but meaningful acts of care that our teachers and support staff pour into each day. These moments, big and small, reflect the heart of our mission and the deep love we share for our students.

I would also like to thank my colleagues for the incredible support they have shown me during this time. Your willingness to step in, collaborate, and lift one another up is what makes our school so strong. And to our larger SFX community—parents, families, and friends—I am deeply grateful for your partnership, trust, and the ways you support both our students and our staff each day.

As we head into Fall Break, I wish our staff, students, and families a safe, relaxing, and joy-filled few days. May it be a time of rest and renewal for all.

With gratitude,

Mandi Jemsek

Vice Principal

Weekly Highlights

Praying the Rosary

We dedicate the month of October to the Holy Rosary. In honor of Rosary Sunday, 1st - 8th grade prayed the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary on Wednesday. Thank you 6th grade for leading us in this special morning of prayer.

Hispanic Heritage Month

Our 5th grade Spanish students researched different Spanish-speaking countries. Each student explored their country’s location, capital, famous people, currency, popular foods, and places of interest and presented their projects using tissue boxes.

Kids for Others

Each week we will recognize students who are living out our SLEs through our Kids for Others Award. Students are nominated by their teachers for showing kindness, leadership, and service in their daily actions. Congrats to this week's winners!

Sock Drive

Thank you to everyone that donated socks and shoes throughout this week. Thanks to your contributions we will be able to support the efforts of the Kino Boarder Initiative and help those in need. We are grateful for your generosity!

Junior High Eco Fair

Last night our EcoFair elective students showcased their science fair projects in the Gym. Our students amazed us with projects that combined science, creativity, and care for our common home. Congrats to our winners! Thank you to everyone who came out to support the 10th Anniversary of Laudato Si’, celebrating the Season of Creation.
