Happy Friday SFX!

Yesterday, students and staff witnessed history with the election of our new pope. We pray for Pope Leo XIV as he begins his leadership of the Church, and we ask the Holy Spirit to guide him in wisdom, strength, and compassion.

We’re also grateful for the safe return of our eighth graders and their chaperones from Washington, D.C. They had an incredible experience exploring our nation’s capital, learning about history, and building lasting memories together. A special thank you to the staff and parents who helped make this trip possible.

As we turn the page to next week, let’s remember that we have just two weeks of school left. This is a great time to encourage our students to stay focused, support one another, and finish strong. Every moment counts, and together we can help our students end the year with enthusiasm and strong effort.

Wishing you a restful and joyful weekend!

Peace,

Ryan Watson

Announcements

Campus Ministry

Would you like to serve the church as an altar server? Fr. Bob invites students in 4th-8th grade who have received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist to be an altar server. Training will be next Wednesday May 21st from 3:30-4:30 PM in the church. For questions contact Mr. Zazick at the parish.

Enrichment - Mathnasium Opportunity

School is winding down, and most families are looking forward to summer break. But summer is also the ideal time to keep math skills sharp. Your child can avoid the "summer slide" and have fun at the same time by attending summer sessions with Mathnasium.

We love being part of the SFX family and are offering students the same deal to come to our center over the summer for $199.99/month for 8 sessions of tutoring.

Our center is open Mon - Thurs from 3:00-7:00 PM and Friday 11:00 AM-3:00PM. No need to make appointments, just drop in with your student anytime during the week to get math help over summer!

The Wolf Den

The countdown to summer is on! If you've placed an order online, please make sure to pick it up before summer break.

It's also never too early to get ready for next year - polo and PE uniforms are fully stocked! Shop online or in store.

Hungry Wolf Cafe

The May menu is here. Please make sure you've placed your orders through the end of the month/school year!

Sports Announcements

Congrats to our girls on winning 2nd place in their flag football tournament last weekend!

Noetic Math Contest

This spring, 31 students from the SFX Math Team joined more than 41,000 students nationwide in the Noetic Learning Math Contest—a competition designed to challenge and inspire young mathematicians.

We are proud to share that one of our students earned a spot on the National Honor Roll (top 10%), and 11 students received National Honorable Mention (top 50%). To see the list, click here.

Congratulations to all Math Team members for your outstanding effort and achievement! And a special thank you to our amazing coaches: Mrs. Valladao, Mrs. Clarke, Mrs. O’Malley, and Mrs. Butler.

Math Team will return in the fall—we hope to see even more students join next year!

May Crowning

On Wednesday our Kindergarteners led us beautifully in the May Crowning Mass—a special tradition honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Celebrating our new Pope!

Our students waited with eager anticipation for the announcement of our new Pope. It was a meaningful morning of learning about the papal selection process and joyfully welcoming Pope Leo XIV!

Families for Others

Volunteer with SVDP

We have some great opportunities to volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul.

In addition to volunteering at the Main Campus Dining Room (for ages 9+), families with younger-aged children can also volunteer at Urban Farms or Hearts & Hands.

Get a group together and spend some time being Families for Others. Click here for detailed information about the volunteer opportunities. You can sign up for a shift here.
