November 22nd, 2024

Dear SFX Families,

I hope this message finds you well as we approach this special time of year.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of watching our talented students perform Elf Jr., a wonderful production featuring 75 of our students from grades three through eight. It was a joyous celebration of the performing arts and a testament to the dedication and creativity of our students and staff. A big thank you to Mrs. Robinson, Mr. Favaro, Mrs. Crogan, Mr. Robinson, and Ms. Mari who put together such a great show. A special thank you to our audience members for their enthusiasm and for supporting their friends so wholeheartedly—it truly exemplified the spirit of our SFX community.

Looking ahead, we are excited to welcome our Grandparents and Grandfriends next week. This is always a beautiful occasion to honor the bonds that make our community so unique and to celebrate the generations that have shaped and continue to support our students.

As Thanksgiving approaches, I want to express my gratitude for our incredible students, staff, and families. Your support, commitment, and care make our school a remarkable place to learn, grow, and thrive. Wishing you and your loved ones all the best during this meaningful season of gratitude and togetherness.

Peace,

Ryan Watson

Advent Information and Family Resources

December 1st is the first Sunday of Advent. The word Advent means “coming”. The season of advent prepares us for the celebration of the Nativity of the Lord. It is also a time to reflect and prepare for Christ’s Second Coming at the end of time. Advent is a joyful time of preparation and expectation.

Please check the school calendar and the parish website for Advent liturgical events. This website has great family activities, prayers, and information about Advent.

Weekly Highlights

Food Drive

On Wednesday we had our annual food drive for St. Vincent de Paul and our Angel Families. A special bonus...our students sat with their buddies at Mass!

We were overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you to our families for your generosity! Thank you to our older buddies for being such great examples to our younger students! Thank you to the Magis committee for putting this all together!

Elf Jr.

Yesterday our cast of Elf Jr. dazzled us with their festive performance! They truly brought the holiday cheer to our campus. If you missed it, you can catch the last show tonight at 7:00pm in the Gym!

Families for Others

KBI Update

Through the generosity of the St. Francis Xavier community and the Brophy student non-profit Sole2Souls, we were able to deliver boxes upon boxes of shoes, underwear, and sock donations to the Kino Border Initiative over the weekend. Items were delivered to the U.S. office in Nogales, Arizona.

Brophy students stuffed backpacks and bags with as many items as they could carry for the walk across the border. Once at the shelter, students unpacked and sorted donations in the “ropería” where migrants can select much needed clothing and footwear.

Our migrant brothers and sisters, KBI, St. Francis Xavier, and Brophy are grateful for everyone who gave during this drive and grateful for the many ways you touch the lives of others.

SFX Families Serving our Neighbors in Need at St. Vincent de Paul

Sign up to volunteer downtown in the main dining hall at St. Vincent de Paul from 3:30-6:30pm. This is a great opportunity for families with kids 9 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

New this year! SFX families can access all volunteer opportunities and pick a date and time that works best for you instead of just Mondays.
