Happy Friday SFX,
As a Jesuit school, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom. It is rooted in the formation of compassionate, conscientious leaders who are committed to serving others, especially those in need. As part of our mission to form "kids for others,” our students are actively engaged in works of justice.
Today we saw that first hand as we celebrated our annual Arrupe Project Commissioning. The Arrupe project is a 7th & 8th grade interdisciplinary service learning unit named for former Superior General of the Jesuits, Fr. Pedro Arrupe, S.J. who said that "our prime educational objective must be to form men and women for others." Our oldest wolves are ready to go out and set the world on fire by supporting local charities and serving those in need. It is great to see our students put their faith into action while inspiring and setting the example for our younger wolves.
Through this service opportunity, they are learning to live out the values of empathy, generosity, and respect for the dignity of all people. Our students are making a tangible difference in the lives of others. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and intentions as they kick off this very important project.
Let's all take a moment this weekend to recognize where God is calling us in our lives. How can we continue to support others, build it up for others, and ensure that people inside and outside of our community belong. Thank you for all your continued partnership and support of our students and school!
Have a great weekend, everyone.
Peace,
Ryan Watson

Arrupe Commissioning
Today our 7th & 8th graders participated in the Arrupe Project Commissioning Ceremony. During the ceremony students were sent forth and commissioned to “set the world on fire.” The Arrupe Project is a 7th and 8th grade interdisciplinary service learning unit based on Catholic Social Teaching, the Works of Mercy, and scripture.
Named after the former Superior General of the Jesuits, Fr. Pedro Arrupe, S.J., the goal is to empower students to personally respond to social injustice by partnering with a local organization that serves those in need.

Since 1998, Catholic Education Arizona has awarded over 157,000 tuition scholarships to children in the Diocese of Phoenix because of taxpayers, like you. Tax credit contributions are dollar-for-dollar tax credits, which means it ultimately costs you nothing to change a life!
