A Message from Mr. Watson |
Dear SFX Community,
Happy Thursday! I hope everyone is excited for a four day weekend. We continue to work hard during this spring semester at SFX. I love how engaged and focused our students are during my classroom visits. Our teachers continue to instruct and inform our students at a high level.
Just last night our 2nd Graders and a few of our older students received the sacrament of Reconciliation. It was a beautiful night at the church and our students were so excited and well-prepared for this big step on their faith journey.
This morning we welcomed two Jesuit school teachers from Peru at Pledge & Prayer. Our two guests were blown away by the warm welcome our community provided and enjoyed their time popping into our Kindergarten classrooms.
Have a safe weekend, build it up, and we look forward to seeing you back on campus Tuesday morning.
Peace,
Ryan Watson

Lent 2023
Lent is the 40 day period set aside for the spiritual preparation for Easter. It is a time of renewal where we recall our baptism and new members prepare for their baptism. It is also a time of penance where we seek forgiveness and reconcile ourselves to God, the Church and members of our community.
Lent begins on next week on Ash Wednesday and lasts until the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday. Please see below for information on how we will live out the three Lenten practices of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving:
Prayer: Join us for Mass, Reconciliation, the Novena of Grace, Parish Penance Service and the Living Stations of the Cross (see our calendar for dates and times). Pray using the parish Lenten Reflection Book. The book is only available online this year.
Fasting: Fasting reminds us that Jesus fasted in the desert for 40 days and links us spiritually to the poor. During Lent we look at ways to simplify our lives to bring us closer to God.
Almsgiving: Participate in the Catholic Relief Services’ Rice Bowl program. CRS Rice Bowl funds serve those in need globally and here is our Diocese. Students will place their Rice Bowl at the foot of the cross before Pledge & Prayer on Wednesday, April 5th.
