Volunteers Needed For Our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program

Our Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grade One children make weekly visits to the new atrium in Keller Hall. It is a special classroom reserved for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program.

With carefully crafted, hands-on materials, the children explore elements of the liturgy, key Bible stories and a variety of Practical Life (fine motor) tasks.  The children are keen, but as they are expanding their work with new parables and materials, they need helpers to read the scripture excerpts to them.

If you have time to spend with us on a Wednesday morning or afternoon, or a Thursday morning, we would very much appreciate your help. Volunteers are needed and no previous experience is required. We can show you the texts and the materials.

Ready to help? Please email Ms. Morrison.
Semaine de la Francophonie
(French Week)

Next week we will be celebrating French Week at CWA. Prayers in the morning announcements will be led in French by CWA students. There will be a trivia "La question du jour" every morning, with a prize for the whole class who answers first.

Tuesday, March 20th is International Day of Francophones so students will be allowed to dress in blue jeans and the colours of the flag from France or some other type of French spirit tops (for example: French writing on a T-shirt, Canadiens hockey jersey, etc.). There will also be some special events organized in some of the French classes this week.

See details HERE.
Flanders Avenue Interchange Public Art Project

Canada Lands Company is funding a public art installation for the newly constructed Flanders Avenue interchange. A volunteer jury has selected Vancouver-based artist Luke Blackstone to create the artwork, and in the coming weeks, Calgarians are being asked to provide input.

Please share your initial ideas at a drop-in public information session, which will include a presentation from the artist:

Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. @ The Military Museums (4520 Crowchild Trail SW)

An online survey will also be available this spring.

Join Us In This Year's
Lenten Campaign

Our High School Boys will be travelling to the Dominican Republic this year for a mission trip.

We are asking our community to help make their mission amazing by bringing in different supplies for an orphanage they will be visiting. Each class will aim to pile up a "mountain" of supplies in their classroom.

On March 20th, the class with the tallest "mountain" will be rewarded!
