The office will be closed on Monday February 16th in observance of President's Day. We hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend!

Rev. Megan's Baby Shower Thank you &

Maternity Leave Plans

Dear ones,

I am deeply grateful for all of your love and support surrounding the upcoming birth of my daughter. Sunday’s Baby shower was such a blessing to me and my family. What fun it was to share in delicious food, wonderful conversation, and fun baby guessing games! Thank you all for your well wishes, wonderful gifts, and beautiful offers of prayer and support. I appreciate each one of you, and I am beyond grateful to be a part of the St. Michael’s community.

As I shared on Sunday morning, I anticipate being away on Maternity Leave from Sunday February 22nd through Sunday May 17th, with a brief appearance on Easter Sunday as the health of my family allows. I have developed an internal leadership document with who is in charge of what areas while I’m away for the clergy, staff, and vestry to use as a guide. If you have any questions or requests that you are unsure of where to take, please use this general guide: for pastoral, programmatic, and ministry requests, please contact Associate Rector - Pastor Katie. For church administration or business related requests, please contact Senior Warden - Greg Dewey. I am grateful for our wonderful team of staff, clergy, vestry, and ministry volunteers that will continue to provide strong leadership and support in my absence.

I will miss you all while I’m away, and I will be back before you know it! Please keep me in your prayers as I will keep you all in mine.

Love and blessings,

Megan+

P.S. We received three gifts with missing tags on them: 1. Pink knitted booties and pajamas 2. A box of Diapers 3. A portable sound machine. If any of these were from you, please let me know. I’d love to thank you =)

Baby Shower Thank You

A HUGE thank you to everyone for the wonderful way St. Michael's showed their love for Rev. Megan and her family last Sunday at the baby shower. We especially appreciate those who helped decorate, clean up and brought the wonderful goodies. It really does take a village. Renee Pierce and Mary Ellen Ferguson

Lenten offerings

Just Peacemaking led by John McEntyre

Starting, Sunday February 22

11:30am in the Friendship Center

In this six week class we'll be raising the ever-timely question: in what ways can the church be a place that fosters and practices peacemaking?   We’ll consider three different avenues to address this question: (a) Scripture and tradition, (b) lives of peacemakers, and (c) practical applications for peacemaking. Everybody welcome! Y’all come! Drop-ins encouraged!

Living Compass:

Living Well Through Lent

You are invited on a transformative Lenten journey exploring the theme of Healing and Wholeness, for yourself and for the world.  Engage in meaningful reflection through the spiritually nourishing daily readings and reflection questions provided by Living Compass.

The Living Compass Lenten booklets are available, free of cost, at the church.

Sign up on the Living Compass website (https://www.livingcompass.org/lent) to receive a daily email of each reflection; two, 6 minute Lent talks per week on the website and listen to guided meditations in the new Living Compass app available in your app store.

Dinner & Documentary

Sunday March 1, 2026 at 6pm

Please join us for our next Dinner & Documentary session. Next month's session will be off-site at a regular member's home. Please contact Marilyn McEntyre or the church office to receive updates. Please complete the survey HERE to insure these evenings will serve both your own sense of purpose and the common good.

Engage in gentle practices such as guided meditation, mindful sharing, and deep listening. This is a judgment-free space to express yourself openly or just be present in the energy of the group.

St. Michael's Serves in the Community

Sharing our Blessings

Our food barrel has been empty of food! Please donate non-perishable items for the food barrel, located in the Narthex. These items are taken to River City Food Bank and provide added sustenance to those in need in our community. Fresh fruits (citrus is especially appreciated) and vegetables may be brought to the office. In addition to non-perishable food items, RCFB is accepting sizable and reusable canvas or cloth tote bags, and egg cartons. Please consider bringing a can in each hand on Sundays to fill the barrel.

Winter Respite Thank You

We had 27 volunteers who helped provide hot showers, warm nourishing food, and a comfortable place to rest and charge phones for the morning. I would like to thank the volunteers and everyone who donated clothes and sleeping bags for their hospitality to our unhoused neighbors. Your gifts and time were much appreciated. Cindy Dewey on behalf of HART Winter Respite

Choral Masterworks by John Cozza

O Clap Your Hands by John Rutter

Here is the anthem we will be singing this coming Sunday. With its driving rhythms and modal harmonies it produces a very powerful setting of the text to conclude the Epiphany season.

O clap your hands - John Rutter, The Cambridge Singers, City of London Sinfonia
