St. Michael’s
Big Impact Giving
As many of you know, we have been on a journey to give a significant amount of our reserve funds to organizations in our area who are able to make an impact on the lives of those in need. And the funding goes to:
Happy Father’s Day!

Gracious God, you created us, and like a father’s protective love, you hold us with care and love. In our creation, you give each one of us talents, skill, and our very being. You guide our lives, and are with us in death: a constant source of wisdom, strength, and courage. You are always present to each one of us. You are a guide through rough waters and steep terrain. For all in our lives today, who like you, are a loving presence - the fathers that gave us life and fathers who claim us as sons and daughters - bless them and let them feel our love today and always. Amen.
What St. Michael's is About
Calling all families!

On Sunday, June 26 at 11:30am we will be gathering for a time of fellowship and dreaming together what events and programs would be exciting for us to do at St. Michael's. Bring your picnic lunch and we will meet at the big playground at St. Michael's.

What to bring? Picnic lunch, chairs, and your family.

If you have questions please reach out to Pastor Katie pastorkatie@stmichaelscarmichael.org.
Nursery Reopen

Last Sunday, June 5th we reopened our nursery during the 10am Worship Service. This will be held in the Friendship Room each week. Please meet with the nursery workers in the Parish Hall before the service to check in. Please contact the office with questions.
No Coffee Hour June 26th

We do not have anyone signed up for coffee hour on Sunday June 26th so we can not offer coffee hour that Sunday.
Calling All Photographers!

In developing our new website, we are aware that St. Michael's needs updated photos! We are creating a new Photography Ministry. If you love to take photos, this is a service opportunity for you. If you are a member of this group, you are not expected to attend all events. The idea is that within this ministry, one member would attend an event to take photos, and then send them to the office edited and ready for use. Don't worry, there are plenty of events for each member of this ministry to have a turn being the event photographer.

Thank you for praying and thinking about this ministry. We are in the digital age and need digital pictures to tell our story of worship, service, and hospitality. We really need you! Please let Rev. Mary or Michelle know if you are interested in this new ministry.
Forward with Families:
Double Your Donation to the Center at St. Matthew’s through Father’s Day

Feed the Hungry. Welcome the Refugee and the Immigrant. Care for the Homeless. Lift Up Hearts. That is what is being done every week at the Center at St. Matthew’s, our diocesan outreach ministry. Put another way, the Center supports families of all shapes, sizes, and circumstances. St. Michael’s has been integral in making the Center what it is today. And we would like to invite you to join the “Forward with Families” giving campaign in June 2022. Thanks to a generous donor, your donations will be doubled up to the matching gift amount of $25,000. Continued....
God's Helping Hands Laundry Days
RE-START  Saturday 6/18/2022
 Arden-Arcade-Carmichael Faith Communities (AACFC)
We are back in business after a 2 year COVID hiatus. God's Helping Hands Laundry Days will again be the 3rd Saturday of every month at Launderland, 3100 Fulton Ave. (North of Marconi Ave.) from 9-11AM (last loads in by 11AM).

From 2013-2020, St. Michael's parishioner, Mary Groesbeck led this wonderful program. Going forward, St. Michael's will share leadership with Sierra Vista Community Church (Tom Tortora) to help our neighbors who do not have access or means to launder their clothing and other essentials.

Volunteers are needed to assist guests by handling the money (quarters to run the machines, laundry detergent, etc.) Most importantly, our volunteers help to provide a positive Community Environment of supporting our neighbors to meet basic needs. By sharing leadership, St. Michael's will be able to share operations responsibility in alternate months throughout the year. The dates for St. Michael's service are:
6/18/22, 8/20/22, 10/15/22, and 12/17/22.  We need at least 3 volunteers (8:45-11:30AM) for each of these Saturdays; with more volunteers we can have 2 teams so that volunteer hours can be as little as 1.5 hours.

The car wash on Memorial Day was very successful in raising funds for Laundry Days to be re-started. As in years past, ongoing donations will be needed to keep it going. A donations jar will again be on the ushers table at the back of the church.

Who is God?
The Story of God
with Morgan Freeman

Sunday June 26th
6:30pm on Zoom

After viewing last month's episode, The Power of Miracles, we decided to continue the series.

In this episode, Morgan Freeman discovers how the perception of God has evolved over human history, and if there is evidence of a divine presence in our brains.
Sacred Circle

We are continuing our Sacred Circle Gatherings by popular request. Kate Muris and Marilyn McEntyre invite you to meet as you can on the last Wednesday of each month, from 6 to 7pm on zoom. Our format is to have quiet time together to listen, pray and reflect on offered readings and poetry. For more information and to join us, please contact Kate Muris at katherinemuris@gmail.com. All are welcome.
Piano Meditation
by John Cozza

Schumann--Romanze in F#, Op. 28/ii
With the composer's birthday falling on June 6, this week's piano meditation is a beautiful (and justly-famous) Romance by Robert Schumann composed in 1839, the year before he finally won a long legal battle to marry his beloved Clara Wieck. Some hear the duet between the tenor and alto voices (played by the left-hand and right-hand thumbs respectively) to embody a love duet between Robert and Clara. Enjoy!
St. Michael's Connects
Greeters Needed
We need a few more greeters for our Sunday 10am services. The greeters welcome all parishioners and assist in sign-in. The greeter also has the important task of taking down the name and contact info for all newcomers of St. Michael's at check in!

Please contact Mary Ellen or Michelle in the office if you are interested in joining this ministry.
