St. Michael's Stewardship Grateful for God's Grace

Thank you all for your generosity toward God and St. Michael’s. We are off to a great start with our 2024 Pledge Drive.

Thank you, Chris Chamness and the Stewardship Committee, for your leadership and commitment to St. Michael’s financial stability. Thank you, Michael Johnson, for the artwork on the prayer card which we all received in our pledge packet. Thank you, Suzanne Phinney and Mary Ellen Ferguson (and all your helpers), for organizing and putting on the barbeque for our wonderful celebration. Thank you, Pastor Katie, for enlisting all the helpers who were there to assist at the barbecue. Thank you, Chris Chamness, David Daigh, Terry Bridges, Susan Johnson, Mary Davy, and Tammy Murray, for inspiring us to be more generous. Thank you, John Quene and Kate Muris, for your help. Thank you, Sr. Tina Francesca, Eileen Thomas, Kate Muris, Mary Ellen for helping with the mail out. Thank you, Michelle Falcy, for all your administrative support.

Your generosity to St. Michael’s enables us to do what we do and that work is much bigger than any one of us. Every day, St. Michael’s makes a real difference for real people — for a hungry neighbor, a child in need, and a grieving parishioner. Your commitment helps to build God’s kingdom on earth. Your generosity to St. Michael’s shows that this is a community for which you care deeply. Whether you are moved by the music or want to participate in our outreach to others; whether you call for pastoral support or are comforted to know you one day could, whether you know every name at Coffee Hour or not, when you make a commitment to St. Michael’s, you show that you care. You want us to succeed. You’re invested, after all, in what we do to show the world a gracious God. Your generosity to St. Michael’s most importantly, signifies a willingness to trust in something bigger than you are. In that way, your commitment is a statement that says you live in hope and trust in God. Thank you!

Faithfully,

Rev. Mary

SCAM ALERT!

It is that time of year when scammers are in full gear! Last week, parishioners received texts from someone claiming to be Rev. Mary. This week, we received emails from people claiming to be parishioners and staff members. To avoid being scammed, look closely at strange sounding emails and text messages and definitely check the email address and phone number. Our clergy and staff emails are listed below. No one from the St. Michael's staff will text or email asking for "favors." If you have questions or are unsure if a text or email you received is legitimate, please call the office at 916.488.3550.

Choral Masterworks

by John Cozza, Music Director

Gloria by John Rutter

With the composer's birthday falling on September 24, I thought the most famous work of the most famous choral conductor/composer of our time would be most appropriate: the magnificent "Gloria" of John Rutter. Here is a link to a live recording from Carnegie Hall with the composer conducting:
