"This Is The Wonder of Grace!"
Preacher: Pastor Mark Stapleton
Worship Leader: Pastor Ben Robert
First Reading: Revelation 14:6-7
Epistle: Romans 3:19-28
Holy Gospel: John 8:31-36
|
|
In speaking of the message of the Reformation, Martin Luther stated: “All I have written and taught has been according to my conscience and sworn duty as a humble teacher of the Holy Scripture, for the praise of God, for the benefit and salvation of all Christendom, and for the good of the entire German nation” (
WLS § 3775). He knew the message was much more than the man. He wanted his hearers to be assured of their salvation, which is alone in Christ, the Messiah. Through his sermons and hymn texts and writings, he presented the Gospel simply and directly. Today we honor and celebrate his faithful rediscovery of that Good News!

A new adult class will begin in the Heritage Room next Sunday entitled,
“’A [Radio] Tower of Strength’: Broadcasting and Gospel Proclamation.” This multi-week course will explore the history of Christian broadcasting, with particular focus on the medium of radio, as an avenue through which forward-thinking Church leaders brought together historical, scriptural preaching with the technological advances of broadcasting, to evangelize and provide pastoral care to millions. As part of our study, we will review the leading role that the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod played in these global efforts. Kirk Farney will be teaching this class.
