EASTER BREAKFAST
Plans are underway for our annual Easter breakfast. A signup board is located in the Narthex. Items needed include coffee cakes, breakfast breads, fruit trays, egg casseroles, etc. We will also need many hands to make this event run smoothly. Please consider signing up to help, and plan to bring your family and friends for delicious food and Christian fellowship on Easter morning. Breakfast will be served from 9:00-10:30 in the gymnasium. Please contact Nancy Mayor at nancy.mayor@gmail.com if you have any questions. Thank you in advance!
| | | Lenten Devotionals are now available. You may pick up a copy in the Narthex at the Information Center or in the church office. | |
| | Throughout Lent, as Easter approaches, we remember Jesus’ sacrifice for us on Good Friday and His resurrection on Easter that we may have eternal life with Him. On Easter Sunday, Easter Lilies are placed on the Altar in celebration of our Savior’s resurrection. Traditionally, Easter Lilies symbolize the death and resurrection of Jesus - the Easter Lily is a bulb that is buried and cultivated for three years before blooming with a white lily flower representing Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. The white color of the lily represents the purity of Jesus’ life on earth. Please consider purchasing an Easter Lily to beautify the sanctuary on Easter Sunday and in thanksgiving for the gift of eternal life. A member of the Altar Guild will be in the narthex taking orders for lilies after each Sunday service on March 30 and April 6. The price per lily is $16.00 and payment is due at the time of order. April 6 is the final day to order an Easter Lily. Easter Lilies may be taken after the Easter services. If you choose to leave your lily, it will be planted on church property by the Garden Angels to bloom in future years.

Plant Sale Volunteers Needed
May 9th & 10th
The Annual St. John's Plant Sale is coming up on May 9th. We need adult volunteers on the day of the sale. We use the 8th graders on Friday as helpers, but we also need adults. You could help in many ways:
- Unload the trucks beginning at 6:00am.
- Help sort pre-orders before the sale from 8:00am to about 9:45am.
- Serve as a cashier any time after 9:45am for a couple of hours.
- Help inside the church directing students to take plants to customers' cars in 2-hour shifts after 10:00am.
- Help bring in unsold plants on Friday evening at about 4:30pm.
- Help on Saturday, May 10th, from 7:45am until the pre-orders and the majority of the plants are gone.
If you are willing to volunteer your time to help during the Plant Sale, please use the button below to access the signup genius. Any questions, please email: school@stjohnslagrange.org. Many hands make light work, and we have lots of fun.
Thanks in advance for your help!

What is the St. John’s School Annual Fund?
Students at St. John’s are very blessed to have the support of this congregation.
The costs above and beyond tuition are borne by the members of this Church.
In an effort to support more families who wish to give their children a Christian education, the School has instituted the School Annual Fund.
Money given for this purpose is really an investment in young Christian lives, so we thank you for any contribution, regardless of the size.

What is Christian stewardship?
I believe that it is our response to the foundational faith-based Truth revealed in the Bible, Genesis 1 v 1. “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.”
Since each of us is a person miraculously created by God in His image, we respond to this gift of life by living it to honor and serve Him with grateful hearts.

Please come to pray for St. John's Church and School on any of the prayer dates above as we "devote ourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful" (Colossians 4:2)

Do you enjoy fresh flowers? Each week the altar is beautified with fresh flowers given by individuals of St. John’s congregation. Flowers may be given in memory or in honor of someone or some occasion, in thanksgiving of something or to the Glory of God. The flowers may be taken home after the Sunday
services for you to enjoy at home or perhaps share with a loved one or someone you wish to share an invitation to worship at St. John’s. The Flower Chart for 2024 is posted in the narthex on the left brick pillar as you walk into the sanctuary. Flowers are $55 for two arrangements. If you wish to sign up for a particular Sunday and someone else has already signed up, we invite you to sign up in addition to another person giving flowers – you can split the $55 cost with the person signed up or purchase an additional two arrangements for $55. Multiple floral arrangements to beautify the altar are always welcome! A member of the Altar Guild will contact you in advance for your dedication.
