"Day of Discovery"

Please be with us for our “Day of Discovery,” to be held in the parish hall this Sunday, January 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

“Day of Discovery” will be an opportunity for you to have a voice in who we want for our next rector. All we need is about 90 minutes of your time following the 10:00 a.m. service. We’ll meet in moderated groups to discuss four questions about the future of St. Christopher’s. We’ll use these questions in a couple of different ways.

  • First, we’ll use your answers to help us develop a parish profile which will be displayed on our website. This profile will be the first introduction to those who are interested in coming to St. Christopher’s.
  • The second way we’ll use your answers is to help us develop our interview questions for candidates who may be our next rector.

We want to give you time to think about your answers before the “Day of Discovery,” so here they are:

  • Remember a moment that was a high point when you felt our church was doing God’s work and fulfilling its mission. What was happening?
  • Name the 3 things you value most about our congregation.
  • Imagine the St. Christopher’s that you hope for in the future. What does it look like? What gifts and skills do we already possess to get us to our imagined future?
  • Recall a time when you most appreciated the ministry of a priest. What was happening? What did you appreciate?

Childcare will be provided after the 10:00 a.m. service. We’ll also make sure we have plenty of snacks allowing us to put off lunch for a bit. If you attend the early service, Bill Driehorst will meet with you during breakfast to gather your responses.

If you can't make it to the "Day of Discovery," please send your answers to the questions in an email to:

Spring Adult Christian Development Coming Soon!

It’s time again to think about how you want to grow in grace. Adult Christian Development at St. Christopher’s opens this Sunday, January 28, with a good variety of offerings. We will also offer our popular calendars for reading larger portions of scripture during Lent. There is something for everyone. Come join us!
"Jesus: God's Manifesto"

Come join us! This course for adults is based on the traditional Gospel stories of the Epiphany Season found in the hymn, “Songs of thankfulness and praise. . .” (Hymnal 1982, #135). Each of the four stanzas references a story about Jesus and how he was manifested and ends “God in man made manifest.” Each story is about how Jesus reveals who God is. Come discover the ways Jesus may be revealing God’s self to us now and what difference that makes in our lives.

Join Father Stephen during the Season of Epiphany and discover how God may be tugging at you in a way you have been waiting for all your life.

This Week's Highlighted Library Book
from the Anti-racism Work Group
Tears We Cannot Stop by Michael Eric Dyson

Short, emotional, literary, powerful― Tears We Cannot Stop  is the book that all Americans who care about the current and long-burning crisis in race relations will want to read.

As the country grapples with racist division at a level not seen since the 1960s, one man's voice soars above the rest with conviction and compassion. In his 2016  New York Times  op-ed piece "Death in Black and White," Michael Eric Dyson moved a nation. Now he continues to speak out in  Tears We Cannot Stop― a provocative and deeply personal call for change. Dyson argues that if we are to make real racial progress we must face difficult truths, including being honest about how black grievance has been ignored, dismissed, or discounted.
