The Daughters of The King
Saturday, December 8, 10:00 am

All women of the church are welcome to join The Daughters of The King on the first Saturday of December. We'll gather in the bridal parlor on the second floor and make Christmas favors for the December 19 Young at Heart Luncheon.

Common Grounds
An Adult Formation Forum
December 9, 9:00 - 9:45 am
In the Parish Hall

Sunday's Topic:
Come . . . as a Child
The second Sunday of Advent will use the Christmas carol, "Away in a Manger," to explore coming to the Nativity with the wonder and awe of a child. What qualities does a child have that we as adults lack? In Matthew 18:3, Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Scripture, music and prayer will create new understanding of how we prepare for Christ at Christmas.

This is the second of three Advent lessons, but you need not have attended the first in the series to enjoy and benefit from this week's forum.

Chris Jacobs will present.

Looking ahead to January

Our next delivery is set for the week of January 21. For that delivery, we will pack on January 11, and if necessary, January 18. In advance of that date we are collecting individually wrapped granola bars. Consider adding them to the grocery shopping list of your household. Please place your donations in the Backpack Ministry basket in the narthex.

Thank you!

Thank you to all who filled a holiday tote for the Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center. The totes will be distributed at the Center early next week with the help of volunteers from St. Christopher's.
