HOLY WEEK AND EASTER AT WPFUMC

As we remember Jesus’ last meal with his disciples, gather with us around the table for gastrochurch! We will enjoy a meal together, share in intentional conversation, and receive communion, all rooted in the idea that meaningful connections happen while breaking bread together.

Date: April 17

Location: Zachry Center

Time: 6:30PM

We ask that you please RSVP here, or call the church office to let us know you're coming!

Join us on Good Friday for our Tenebrae Service, a powerful time of reflection on the suffering and sacrifice of Christ. Through Scripture, music, and the gradual extinguishing of light, we will journey through the shadows of the cross, remembering Jesus’ final moments.

We invite you to come, sit in the silence, and reflect on the weight of this holy night.

Hop on over for a fun-filled Easter Eggstravaganza! Bring your family and friends for an exciting morning of egg hunts, games, crafts, and more as we celebrate the joy of Easter together. There will be plenty of eggs, treats, and surprises for kids of all ages—so don’t forget your basket!

SERVE

The Little Free Pantry is looking bare, and is in desperate need of restocking! We specifically need Peanut Butter, Cereal, Spam, and Soups. We're counting on YOU!!

We need Wednesday Night Supper volunteers - both to help set out the food at serving time AND to assist in cleaning up after supper. You can choose one or the other OR BOTH. The rotation would begin in late May, and if we have enough volunteers, you would only need to serve every 4 weeks. Call the church office to sign up!

Serve with our Children & Youth!

In the UMC Baptismal Covenant, we are challenged to nurture our kids and students in the life of the Church and the Christian faith. Studies show it takes at least 5 adults beyond their parents to help nurture young people into a lasting relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a part of passing down faith to the next generation by serving with Children or Youth on Sundays and Wednesdays.

We celebrate that we served

24 people last Thursday (April 3)

at Soup Kitchen!

If you would like to serve with one of our Soup Kitchen Teams contact the church office, or Helen here.

Contact Pastor Mychal if you are interested in serving!

I think often of this quote by Madeline L’Engle, “We draw people to Christ not by loudly discrediting what they believe, by telling them how wrong they are and how right we are, but by showing them a light that is so lovely that they want with all their hearts to know the source of it.”

Let’s be this kind of light.

If you would like to add or remove a name from the prayer list,

please contact the church office.
