This Week at WPFUMC

Week of June 2, 2025

Camp Firelight VBS – June 23–26 | 5:30–8:00 PM

This summer, we're welcoming our friends and neighbors PreK through 5th Grade for an exciting adventure at Camp Firelight VBS! From storytelling and games to crafts and science, it's going to be a week full of faith, fun, and friendship, and we need your help to make it happen! Whether you can assist with decorating beforehand, guide campers through rotations, or donate supplies and treats, there’s a role for everyone in our church family.

Let’s come together to shine Christ’s light in the lives of our young campers!

SERVE

The Little Free Pantry supplies

have been restocked.

Monetary donations are much appreciated!

And as always, feel free to add

non-perishable food items to the pantry

or to pick up extra when

doing your own grocery shopping!

Serve with our Children & Youth!

In the UMC Baptismal Covenant, we are challenged to nurture our kids and students in the life of the Church and the Christian faith. Studies show it takes at least 5 adults beyond their parents to help nurture young people into a lasting relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a part of passing down faith to the next generation by serving with Children or Youth on Sundays and Wednesdays.

We celebrate that we served

45 people last Thursday (May 30)

at Soup Kitchen!

If you would like to serve with one of our Soup Kitchen Teams contact the church office, or Helen here.

Congratulations to Graham Finlay and Macie Davis, who were married on May 25.

First quarter statements have been sent - via email if the office has your email address, by postal mail if we don't have a current email address. If you did not receive yours, please contact Michael Andrews.

Jesus didn’t please anybody, it seems. He was always breaking the rules and spreading out the table.

~Richard Rohr

Jesus never appears to be pushing what we call social programs. He is much more radical. He calls us to a new social order in which we literally share table differently!

~Richard Rohr

Twenty years ago this spring—May 2005, to be exact—we began our weekly Soup Kitchen. I pray that our enlarged table has fed hearts and minds as well as stomachs. And that those who come to eat and those who come each week to serve, have found the presence of Christ in that room.

~Helen
