Happy July! This month brings exciting new beginnings, major community events, and a significant milestone in our Chamber leadership as I officially pass the torch.

Passing the Torch: Meet our New President & CEO, Nick Harlin!

We are thrilled to officially welcome Nick Harlin as the new President & CEO of the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce! Nick is excited to get to know all of our members and work together to support our business community.

As Nick steps into his new role, this month marks my official final goodbye as your President & CEO (Executive Director). Serving this wonderful Chamber and the town of Smithville for the last almost four and a half years has been an absolute pleasure and a true highlight of my career.

Thank you all for your support, your passion, and for allowing me to celebrate your milestones with you. I will cherish the friendships and memories built during my time here, and I cannot wait to watch our business community continue to thrive under Nick's leadership. I will still be around the community and look forward to seeing you all as a fellow Chamber supporter!

We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on 56 Ready Go Dance and its wonderful owner, Janice Heinz! Janice brings a vibrant energy and a passion for movement to our community, proving that dance truly is for everyone, regardless of age or skill level.

At 56 Ready Go Dance, the mission is all about making dance accessible, fun, and entirely stress-free. Janice specializes in creating a welcoming, high-energy environment where participants can learn new rhythms, stay active, and build confidence. Whether she is leading lively line dancing classes, mobile dance

workshops, or community fitness sessions, her step-by-step approach ensures that nobody gets left behind on the dance floor.

What makes 56 Ready Go Dance so special is Janice's personal touch and community-first philosophy. She frequently brings her mobile dance experiences directly to local events, senior living communities, and private gatherings, spreading joy and connection through music and movement. Her classes are designed not just for physical fitness, but for social connection and pure entertainment—making it impossible to leave without a smile on your face.

Falls are the leading cause of injury for people over the age of 65. This free program was designed to help individuals recognize their concerns about falling and the hazards in their home and community that contribute to falls. Participants will discuss fall prevention topics such as home safety and safety in the community. Presented by Lori Unruh, BSN, RN, trauma outreach and injury prevention coordinator. FREE.
