Illinois State Scholars

Congratulations to the 57 students from the Class of 2026 who earned the recognition of Illinois State Scholar! This is a prestigious recognition of academic achievement presented by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC).

This outstanding representation accounts for 34% of the senior class. It is the highest number of scholars we have had since 2018, when 61 students were honored (31% of that class).

Each State Scholar will receive a congratulatory letter and a Certificate of Achievement from ISAC. Our 2026 Illinois State Scholars are listed on our website here. Congratulations to all!

Alumni Panel - January 5

Junior and senior students are invited to attend our Spartan Alumni Panel at 12:05 p.m. Monday, January 5, in the Rosmonowski Room! The panel begins after our early dismissal and lasts until approximately 1:00 p.m. Please note this is the first day back from Christmas Break.

Recent Spartan grads will share about their college experience during this informal gathering. Lunch is provided and student questions encouraged!

Limited space! RSVP here by January 2 to claim your spot!

Sophomore Retreat

The Sophomore Retreat is a graduation requirement and is held at the Riverwoods Christian Center in St. Charles on Wednesday, January 28. Sophomores will report to homeroom and are bussed to Riverwoods. Please note no sophomores can drive themselves to the retreat. Students will return to SFHS by 2:30 p.m.

Sophomores: Dress in Outta Uniform, bring a lunch with your name clearly labeled, and do not bring tablets, schoolwork, etc.

The Sophomore Retreat is run by the Mission and Ministry Team and the Pastoral Ministry staff. The retreat will consist of activities, reflection, prayer, meditation, and talks which focus on the theme of the Body of Christ.

Students who do not attend MUST attend the retreat make-up on Friday, February 27, at SFHS.

Teachers are alerted that sophomores will miss class. Students do not need a planned absence, and parents do not need to report their child absent from class if they are at the retreat.

Ongoing Updates & Reminders

Service Opportunity: Please consider committing to cook individually packaged meals with family or friends for those who access DuPage PADS Interim Housing Center. Residents do not have access to full kitchens and rely on volunteers to provide meals. To learn more and access a calendar to sign up for a day to cook, click here.

Opt-In for Text Messages: In the event of an inclement weather schedule change or emergency, we send text message notifications to parents in addition to an email and phone call.
