The Weekly Spartan - November 14, 2025 | | Celebrations or news to share? Please contact Jamie Lavigueur at jlavigueur@sfhscollegeprep.org. | | Quarter 2 Mid-Quarter Progress Checks | | Mid-quarter progress checks are at 3:00 p.m. today, Friday, November 14. Students, with their parents/guardians, should check current academic progress in mySFHS. Students are encouraged to contact their teacher if there is a question concerning a specific grade or activity. | | Inclement Weather Reminder | | |
While we hope inclement weather and other emergencies don't interrupt our plans for the school day, we are prepared with a communications process and notification system in the event of a closure or late start/early release.
When inclement weather is predicted, we begin to assess conditions the day before, with safety as our number one priority. The variables we consider include local weather forecasts, temperature and wind chill, road conditions, and if our school building is functioning properly (power, heat, water, etc.).
Please note the following:
- We strive to notify families of a closure as soon as possible.
- The message is sent by email, phone call, and text message.
- Timing of the message:
- Day-before closure - If a decision can be made the day before, the communication is ideally sent no later than 10 p.m.
- Day-of closure - Communication is ideally sent between 5 and 6 a.m.
-
If we need to dismiss students early or plan to have a late start due to inclement weather, parents are notified as soon as possible by email, phone call, and text message.
-
The status of after-school activities is updated on mySFHS and through coaches/moderators.
-
In addition to email, phone, and text messages, we also share closure information on mySFHS, social media, and local media.
Thank you for your understanding as we navigate any challenging weather conditions this year!
