The Weekly Spartan - November 7, 2025 | | Celebrations or news to share? Please contact Jamie Lavigueur at jlavigueur@sfhscollegeprep.org. | | November Students of the Month | | Congratulations to our November Students of the Month! Each department selects a student based on teacher recommendations. | | |
Please join us November 10-20 as we launch the SFHS Food and Funds Challenge in support of families and individuals who access People’s Resource Center, one of our ministry partners.
We invite every member of our community to share pantry staples and donate change/cash in our penny war to help keep shelves stocked and sustain vital community programs serving families in need in Wheaton and beyond. Donation drop-off is in the Atrium beginning November 10.
Hunger is a serious issue in America, affecting children, the elderly, families, and people with disabilities. In DuPage County alone, there are more than 76,000 individuals who experience food insecurity - over 8% of our population, and nearly 40,000 children.
This challenge gives us an opportunity to make a tangible difference and follow The Francis Way of Nurturing Relationships and Serving Others. It helps us answer Jesus’ call to “feed the hungry” and live up to the example of our patron Saint Francis of Assisi, who begged for food and money to care for people who were poor and pushed aside. By sharing what we have with others, we embody the love of God that transforms hearts, homes, and lives.
Our goal is to strengthen the bonds of compassion that unite our school and broader community and provide much-needed food and resources to people in need. Together, we can make a tangible difference for our neighbors one meal and one act of generosity at a time.
Between November 10-20, donate your change/cash for our penny war, and share these pantry staples:
| |
- Beef stock
- Chicken stock
- Cooking oil
- Dried beans
- Dried lentils
| |
- Pasta
- Pasta sauce
- Rice
- Vegetable broth
