Junior year is an incredible time of maturing and self-discovery, and every year our students tell us that one of the most important and memorable parts of their experience is the time they spend together on the Junior Retreat.

Students will choose from one of four overnight retreat options based on what works best with their curricular and co-curricular obligations:


• Retreat 1: September 9-10, 2026
• Retreat 2: October 6-7, 2026
• Retreat 3: January 5-6, 2027
• Retreat 4: February 22-23, 2027

The Junior Retreat is a Pastoral Ministry Department and Religion Department requirement. As we move forward in the school year, please note the row of blue-painted spots along the athletic fields in the back (south end) lot are reserved all day, every day. These spots were auctioned to raise money for SFHS and our students; the winners have sole use of these spots 24/7 for the duration of the year. Please park in your assigned spot or in designated visitor spots when you are at the high school.

Upcoming Girls Kairos 141, September 8-11: Senior students are invited to participate in the four-day Kairos retreat, an opportunity to experience God’s friendship and enter “God’s time” together. The retreat is facilitated by a team of senior students and SFHS faculty members and held at the Carmelite Spiritual Center in Darien.

Kairos moments are treasured memories for many alumni, and we hope every senior will join us.

The Arts & Crafts Club will meet two Mondays a month from 2:35 to 3:15 p.m. This club provides students with fun and creative Arts & Crafts projects and an opportunity to meet new friends. Crafts this year include tie dye pencil and tote bags, air dry clay animals, tiled frames and wood sign decorating. The sign-up meeting is Monday, August 24 at 2:35 p.m. in the Student Union. Students interested in joining should contact Angelika Rupp at arupp@sfhscollegeprep.org or visit her in the Counseling Office.

The S.A.D.D. Club (Students Against Destructive Decisions) is a student-led organization dedicated to promoting healthy choices and positive decision-making.

This group empowers students to take leadership roles in addressing issues that affect teenagers today. Through school-wide programs, awareness campaigns, and community-building activities, members help create a supportive environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Students interested in learning more are invited to attend the informational and sign-up meeting at 2:35 p.m. Thursday, August 27, in the Kuhn Cultural Arts Center. Our Freshman Success Group is back by popular demand, and is offered at the beginning of first semester to assist students in starting their St. Francis High School experience with success, enthusiasm and the necessary study skills. This group also provides the opportunity to connect with others in a fun and safe space.

• This group is offered once a week on Tuesdays for six weeks. The group is led by counselors and provides freshmen the opportunity to learn more about effective study skills, time management skills, and test-taking techniques.
• The first meeting is Tuesday, September 2. Registration is required by Friday, August 28.

Social-Emotional Wellness: Supporting our Students on All Levels


The group counseling program at St. Francis High School is designed to meet the needs of all students. Providing support during challenging times helps students cope with life’s challenges. We encourage students who may benefit from coping strategies to take care of themselves and connect with others in a safe, confidential setting.


• Groups meet once a week on Wednesdays, Tuesdays, and Fridays beginning the third week of August.

Groups offered this year:

1. Support Groups I , II & III: These are intended for students dealing with difficult family situations such as divorce or family and peer conflict. They also are intended for students to work on personal topics such as stress management, depression, anxiety, social isolation, body image and more.
2. Grief Group: This group is intended for students who have experienced a significant loss in their lives (death of a relative or friend).
3. Friday Guys’ Group: This group is a weekly space for young men to connect, reflect, and grow. The group explores topics like personal goals, friendships, future aspirations, and other issues that matter to participants.
4. Women's Empowerment Group: This six-week series helps young women build confidence, share experiences, and support one another. The group also covers themes such as stress management, body image, self-esteem, relationships, and other topics relevant to participants.

Our 50/50 Tuition Credit Raffle offers the chance to win funding toward tuition when we split the pot on Thursday, August 20. Purchase tickets through August 20.

The winner will receive half the pot toward tuition for the 2026-27 school year, with a maximum prize of $16,400 depending on the amount collected.

Every ticket supports our Ensuring Our Future campaign, lifting up our school, our students and our community.
