UPCOMING EVENTS AT C.C.P.

We hope you will join us for these great events!

On December 3rd at our Art House at Coffee Hour we will be hosting Christine Pestillo, a local children's author who recently self-published a 32-page Christmas storybook for kids ages 3-8.

Christine’s book, Danny Disappoints Santa, is not an ordinary tale of naughty kids on a Christmas day. It’s really the opposite, teaching kids to cherish their gifts given to them, especially by Santa! This book is written in memory of Christine’s mom who passed away in 2022. It is a book that both kids and adults will enjoy! Books will be on sale for $10.

Christine is a native of Southington, who is hearing-impaired and knows some sign language. She enjoys reading, writing, game nights, crafts and cooking.

RE-MEMBERSHIP CLASS

Please join us for a "Re-Membership Class" which will begin Sunday, December 10th , after Sunday Service, and continue once a month on each 2nd Sunday through March (4 classes in total).

The class will serve as either a membership class for those wanting to become new members during Lent 2024 or a refresher for those who were confirmed/became church members years ago. If you have any questions, please contact the Church Office.

Families with special needs children, Support Group

Sheri Ryan is a certified life coach who works with families of children with special needs, mental illnesses, and foster parents. I offer a free online support group to parents. These services are virtual to allow easier access to busy families to alleviate the need for additional childcare. I, myself, have raised 4 adopted children with special needs. We are a community who need to support each other. Let’s connect!

The second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 6:00 to 7:00, contact Sherri for zoom code at www.healinglives.art or email [email protected].

Plainville Community Food Pantry

The Plainville Community Food Pantry has served the town of Plainville for decades, providing not only food assistance, but also clothing, heating assistance through the Fuel Bank, and referrals to crisis intervention services. It has been a lifeline for many. The pandemic has strained its resources, and strained its staff as well, as the work of volunteers had to be curtailed.

We can all help. Consider writing a check. Add the Food Pantry to your weekly shopping list…it will quickly become a habit.

The Food Pantry basket is in the Narthex ready to accept donations of food and other non-perishable items.

If you would prefer to make a financial contribution please send a check to The Plainville Community Food Pantry at 54 South Canal Street, Plainville, CT 06062.

If you have any questions for the food pantry or are in need of help please contact them at (860) 747-1919.

Thank you.
