The Snowflake Fair

“Many hands make light work”

The quote above is never more true than during Snowflake Fair season! For 29 years our Snowflake Fair has been one of C.C.P.'s biggest events and this year is shaping up to be our biggest yet!

Did you know...

  • Last year our Snowflake Fair raised $3400. To put this in perspective, this is enough to cover nearly an entire month's worth of bills. In one six hour day we were able raise enough money to cover our electric bill to keep our lights on, our gas bill to keep our heat on and quite few other bills that come with the day to day running of our church.
  • Last year we had 350 people come through our doors. That was 350 opportunities for us to reach out our community and show them what an active, vibrant church we are and invite them to come see us on a Sunday morning.

With 27 vendors,a bake sale, a silent auction, Santa selfies, children's games, make & take ornaments, door prizes, and a historical display we have A LOT going on and it will take "all hands on deck" to make this event a success. If everyone were to "donate" ONE HOUR of their time on Saturday all of our volunteer slots would be filled. The 3 T's of Stewardship are Time, Talent & Treasure... We are asking you to prayerfully consider donating your TIME on November 9th.

Please use the sign-up sheets to see which of our tables you would like to sign up for. We have many and you can sign up for more than one. You will definitely not be bored that day!

If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you in advance for your help to make our Snowflake Fair incredible!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We are looking for volunteers to help Move Furniture on Thursday Evening (11/7 from 5-7pm) , Clean-up (11/9 at 3pm) and to Work Our Tables from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on November 9th. If you can help, please use the sign-up sheets or contact the Church Office.

If you would like to Donate Crafts to sell at the C.C.P. booth, please contact the Church Office.

BAKED GOODS NEEDED

We are looking for volunteers to bake delicious cookies, brownies, bars, breads, cakes, pies, and any other yummy treats you’d like to bring! We’d like to have a variety of baked goods including gluten free, nut free and sugar free options. Don’t want to bake, contact one of our local bakeries/grocery stores for a donation. We will highlight their donation with a special display. We’d love to have full tables of baked goods!

For more information or to sign-up contact Lynnette Astolfi, the Church Office or use the sign-up sheets.

DONATE GOODS OR SERVICES FOR OUR SILENT AUCTION

This is a fantastic opportunity to raise funds while showcasing the talents and contributions of our Congregation.

  • Why Donate? Your donations will not only help us achieve our fundraising goals but also foster a sense of community and collaboration within our congregation. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference!

  • What Can You Donate? Here are some ideas to consider:
  • Items: Gift baskets, handmade crafts, art pieces, or specialty food items.
  • Services: Offer your skills, such as tutoring, gardening, or coaching sessions.
  • Experiences: Consider donating tickets to events, gift certificates to local restaurants, or unique experiences.

  • How to Get Involved: If you have an item or service you’d like to contribute, please email nguglietta@mirion.com or call/text 860-518-5491. If you need help brainstorming ideas or organizing your contribution, feel free to reach out!

**All donations must be submitted by Sunday, November 3rd**

Thank you for considering donating. Together, we can make this auction a success!

Special THANKS to Bill Calder for getting our Hall decorations up and looking great!

FRIENDSHIP CENTER SOCK COLLECTION

The collection of socks for the outreach workers at the Friendship Service Center in New Britain will begin on November 3rd and continue through the month.

There will be a blue bin in the narthex to place your donations. For the past three years we have exceeded 200 pairs of socks for the homeless. We are small but mighty. Let’s try to do this again this year.
