Interim Dean and Priest-in-Charge's Note

Dear Friends in Christ,

Alleluia, Christ is Risen, the Lord is Risen Indeed Alleluia.

I wish to extend heartfelt thanks and gratitude to everyone who made Holy Week and Easter a beautiful and moving week of prayer, reflection and music, and to everyone who gave of themselves to make all things possible. From the Renewal of Vows on the Tuesday of Holy Week and Tenebrae, to the delicious meal shared on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday services of prayer, baptisms at the Easter Vigil and to a glorious Easter celebration with Bishop John Harvey Taylor, along with a second special guest, it was all perfect. To all of you who worked countless hours behind the scenes, thank you for blessings us. Indeed, St. John’s Cathedral is a community of love that proclaims the Good News of Christ Jesus in our world today.

With love and gratitude,

Anne+

Your Transition Committee has formally started its work

From Mr. Luis Gonzalez

For our kick-off meeting on April 7, we met with The Rev. Cn. Thomas Quijada-Discavage, the Canon for Formation and Transition Ministry for the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. He described the transition process as defined by the diocese and what is expected of your Transition Committee. During our meeting on April 14, we reviewed the process and expectations with greater detail. We also discussed that while we cannot offer the congregation a set timeline when our work will be completed, we will work diligently and will meet weekly to keep our momentum going. We will let you know soon how everyone in the congregation can become part of the Parish Profile.

Please contact Mr. Luis González, Committee Chair, if you have any questions about our Transition Committee.
