February 4, 2024
Dear St. Giles Families,

February is finally here after what felt like an eternal January. I’m not sure if I trust the groundhog, but we are grateful for the improved weather and even a few days of sun.

We had an amazing week last week celebrating Catholic Schools Week! I’d like to thank everyone who helped make the week a success! Thank you to all parents who volunteered their time at the Open House, Buddy Lunches and our student assemblies. There are so many parents behind the scenes who help make St. Giles special each day. We are blessed and truly grateful.

This year, the Catholic Schools Week pep rally and our faculty/student volleyball game returned with high energy. Our Catholic Schools Week Faculty Committee brought out all the stops this year, making the week energizing, entertaining and full of spirit! The tug-of-war competitions and volleyball games were a hit with all ages! Our new Lions cheer squad kicked off the festivities with tumbling, cheering and a dance routine. We are excited to have our older and younger Lions teaming up and cheering at games and future events!
Jam the Gym
Join us this Friday, February 9th, for Jam the Gym celebrating our Girls’ basketball program. This year will be a break from tradition in that we will not be hosting another school ... Our goal is to make this a true celebration of our Girls’ Basketball Program!
The 8th grade team will be a focal point of the evening celebrating their final season at St. Giles. We will also recognize our 4th thru 7th grade teams on their accomplishments as well! Game times will be finalized this week and shared in a special eNews. Scroll down to read all about their wins last weekend!

Progress Reports
Progress Reports and iReady Diagnostic 2 reports will be sent home tomorrow–please be sure to check backpacks and folders. Trimester 2 Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, February 15th in person from 12:45 pm - 7:00 pm. February conferences are not required and are by teacher request. Conferences will be 15 minutes each and held in the individual teacher's classroom. Teachers will reach out to you directly to schedule conferences this week if they have not done so already. If you would like a conference with a particular teacher, don't hesitate to get in touch with them directly. School will be dismissed at 11:45, and Kids Klub will be unavailable in the afternoon. There is no school on Friday, February 16th, due to Staff Development and on Monday, February 19th, for President's Day.

Have a wonderful week,
Meg

I am a mother to three Fenwick athletes Luke (18), Olivia (16), and Emma (14). I spend most of my time cheering them on from the sidelines.
