GREAT OPPORTUNITY

This fall we will have the opportunity to partner with a couple of incredible local churches/organizations in Hamburg to serve the youth of Wayside. Both offerings will take place on Tuesday nights, with Young Life being for High Schoolers, and the Hub for Middle School and High School.

What is Young Life? Young Life is a Christian ministry that reaches out to middle school, high school, and college students in all 50 of the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world. Young Life goes to kids, build bridges of authentic friendship, and introduces them to Jesus Christ. Through adventure, fun and community YL presents the gospel in ways that teenagers can understand and respond to. Their Ecumenical approach to ministry allows for collaboration with followers of Christ from various traditions and local churches worldwide.

What is the HUB? The Hub is a 26,000 square foot facility designed with teenagers in mind, located on the campus of Revive Wesleyan, 5999 McKinley Pkwy, Hamburg. Their Tuesday night program for Middle School and High Schoolers is filled with fun and games, worship and teaching, and opportunities for small group breakouts.

***Communication for participation in these events (and if you or your teen needs transportation) will be done through Group Me App. Reach out to Becky to join! (716)310-8152 or use the QR code below.

September for many is the start of fall, school and cooler nights. Many kitchens smell of soups and homemade cookies, also a sign cooler weather is around the corner.  Starting September 4th through October 16th, we will be collecting new underwear, socks and T-shirts to share with those who need a little extra help this moment in time. There is a hamper in the hallway next to the office for your donations. Please consider purchasing extra while back to school shopping for your family. If you have any questions, please see Pam Decker.

The Deacons will be hosting a Gift Card Calendar Fundraiser!

The calendars will be for sale in October, for $10.00 each. Starting November 1st, you will have an opportunity to win a gift card each day. Your name remains in the drawing throughout the month. The normal Monday-Saturday win will be a gift card totaling $25.00 and Sunday it increases to $50.00. Our calendar will be customized to fit the donations we receive and you will be able to review the prizes before purchasing the calendar.

If you have a gift card you would like to donate, please contact Kris Passinault at 716-860-9830 or Julie in the office.

GIFT CARDS

The Deacons are collecting gift cards to be used for a fundraiser. (see below.) If you are out and about and can pick one or a few gift cards up to donate we would appreciate it OR, perhaps you received one that you will never use or have an extra one that you purchased for a "just in case" moment, we will take them! No worries if you're not a shopper, we'll accept cash as well and we'll purchase a gift card from you. Any and all donations can be dropped off to Julie in the office or given to Kris Passinault. Thank you for your help and support!

Women of Wayside (W.O.W.) Sewing & Crafting Group

Can't make Wednesday mornings at 10 AM to sew with the W.O.W. Group? Feel like you're missing out on fellowship? You want to be part of the group but the time just doesn't work? Well, good news! Starting Tuesday, September 13th (and every 2nd & 4th Tuesday after that) Lisa Laffrado will be at Wayside for an evening gathering of the Women of Wayside (W.O.W.) sewing/crafting group.  Join her and the other ladies who just can't get enough crafting & fellowship from 6:00 until 9:00 PM.  Any questions, please see Lisa Laffrado or call the office.

Laugh and Sing: for God is With Us"

Come join your friends from other churches as Rev. Rachel Brown, from Hamburg Pres. leads us in worship with the assistance of Jennifer May, a Laughter Yoga Specialist and Katie Webster, on the guitar. Our Congregational Care Director, Becky, is planning on attending. If you would like to share a ride, please let her know.

Starting Friday, September 23, our Congregational Care Director, Becky will be leading a bible study. We hope you can join us at 9:30 AM at Wayside. The study will run 12 weeks and each class runs about an hour or so. We're looking into the possibility of adding another date and time to the schedule to accommodate everyone that is interested. We will keep you updated.
