St. John's EYC Mission Dinner is This Sunday, Join Us for Chattanooga Choo Choo!
|
St John's EYC is sponsoring a Mission Fundraiser Dinner this Sunday, April 15, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall to help with expenses for the upcoming Mission Trip to Chattanooga (June 2 through 9)!
We invite you and your family to join us on April 15
for a yummy meal, and a quick Youth Mission presentation. Near the end of the event, each family will receive an envelope with a profile of a St John's Youth "Mission Tripper", as well as a number from 1 to 50. The profile will be your family's Prayer Partner, a Youth that you can pray for before, during, and after the trip, and the number is the dollar amount that we ask that you will donate to our cause (from $1 to $50).
Please bring cash or check to the dinner for your Mission Trip donation.
We pray that you can attend and participate with us!

Food for the Journey 2018: Reimagine, Reconnect, Rejoice!
|
Food for the Journey is a three-day annual conference that offers biblical, theological, and spiritual resources to spark the imagination and nourish the soul, offering individuals and faith communities new paths to open hearts and minds and opportunities to explore how Christ touches our lives today. The 2018 conference will take place from April 26 through 28 at DaySpring Conference Center.
This year's conference focus is the art of story. Guiding us on our journey will be liturgical composer John Bell and storyteller Valerie Tutson. Fran McKendree and others will provide the music. The Rev. John Bell is a native of Scotland and a member of the Iona Community with a global reputation as a teacher, preacher, and worship leader. He helped found the Wild Goose Resource Group, which for 25 years has been engaged locally, nationally, and internationally in the renewal of music and worship in the Church. Valerie Tutson has preserved the oral tradition of telling stories in schools, churches, libraries, festivals and conferences since 1991 with an emphasis on African traditions, African American history, and the retelling of age-old Bible stories.
