Palm Sunday Choral Evensong
We will celebrate a Service of Choral Evensong on Palm Sunday, March 25 in the church. Join us at 5:00 p.m. as our choir helps us begin a thoughtful, sacred Holy Week in St. John's.
Wednesdays in Lent Conclude Tonight
We conclude our 2018 Wednesdays in Lent series, Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John, tonight.  A service of the Stations of the Cross will precede the program at 5:00 in the Church. The group will gather at 6:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall for a delicious communal meal prepared by Chef Dave and his team. The final Lenten menu is Western vegetarian chili over white rice, minestrone soup and grilled cheese, and cake with chocolate frosting.

Dinner will be followed by
a program at 6:30 p.m. when we will reflect together on God's word as found in the writings of St John the Evangelist. The program will be followed by a closing service of Compline at 7:30 p.m.

If you plan to join us tonight, RSVP to the parish offices at  parish@stjohnstampa.org so we can count you in for dinner!

For more information contact Deacon Kathleen at kmoore@stjohnstampa.org or 785.9400.

Maundy Thursday Night Vigil
Jesus asked his disciples to keep awake while he prayed to his father in the garden of Gethsemane on that first Maundy Thursday.  Following the emotional and powerful Maundy Thursday liturgy on Thursday evening, which includes both the foot washing and the stripping of the altar, the Blessed Sacrament is moved to the chapel altar to remain in repose until the morning of Good Friday.  As is our custom, parishioners sign up for one hour blocks of time throughout the night and this opportunity is open to all who wish to spend some quiet and reflective time with Christ in a very special way.  Please contact Nicholas Nitch at nicholasnitch@gmail.com if you would like to sign up for a particular hour of the watch.

Mid Morning Women's Bible Study
Deacon Kathleen Moore will guide the Mid Morning Women's Bible Study in a reading of Genesis 37:5 - 38:30, "The Joseph Saga Begins, " on Tuesday, April 3.  The group meets on alternate Tuesdays, 10:15 to 11:30 a.m., in the Church Sanctuary.

They invite you to consider joining them even if you have not attended previously. Children and Youth
Messy Games Night This Sunday!
THIS Sunday, March 25, is our first EYC Messy Games Night, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at Discovery House! Come dressed in clothes that can get dirty for a night of crazy fun. Invite your friends--it's going to be an epic experience!
St. John's EYC Mission Dinner: Chattanooga Choo Choo
St John's EYC is sponsoring a Mission Fundraiser Dinner on Sunday, April 15 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall to help with expenses for the upcoming Mission Trip to Chattanooga (June 2 through 9)! Each Mission Trip youth personally selected eight to ten families that they would like to invite, and the invitations go out this week!

We invite you and your family to join us on April 15  for a yummy meal, and a quick Youth Mission presentation. Near the end of the event, each family will receive an envelope with a profile of a St John's Youth "Mission Tripper", as well as a number from 1 to 50. The profile will be your family's Prayer Partner-a Youth that you can pray for before, during, and after the trip, and the number is the dollar amount that we ask that you will donate to our cause (from $1 to $50). We pray that you can attend and participate with us!

Please bring cash or check to the dinner for your Mission Trip donation. RSVP by Sunday, April 8  by calling the parish offices at 259.1570 or contacting Youth Minister Ayana Grady at agrady@stjohnstampa.org. God bless!

Sunday's Scripture Snippet

"Now my soul is troubled. And what should I say-'Father, save me from this hour'? No, it is for this reason that I have come to this hour. Father, glorify your name." Then a voice came from heaven, "I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again."

Hospital Visitation

We want to provide support during your time of need! However, because health regulations prohibit the clergy from being informed when our parishioners are in the hospital, we will not know if you or someone you love is there unless you tell us. We want to provide support in any time of need or crisis. Please call the parish offices at 259.1570 or  click here to email us to let us know when you need us.
