The Ordination of the Rev. Michael Cannon

Dear St. John's Parish Family,
Erika and I wish to express our thanks for the welcome you have given us.  We have been here barely a month and yet we already feel at home with you.  Thanks also to Fr. Connelly and his team of clergy and staff who work together so well, and treat one another with mutual care and respect.
The ordination was simply spectacular! The music was sublime. Thanks to Simon Morley and the choir for the extra work you did to make it so lovely.  Thank you to Sara Stone and her helpers who put on a warm reception which was weeks in the planning.  Our entire church family was involved, some more directly and tangibly as acolytes, altar guild, oblation bearers, presenters, and ushers.  Everyone who attended played an integral part.  And everyone who could not attend in the flesh were there in spirit through their prayers.  The Holy Spirit found a receptive temple and we were all blessed.
May God continue to bless you and call to our minds all the many reasons we have to be grateful.  Then, let us share these blessings with the world.  It is Thanksgiving and I am so very thankful to God that he has sent me here to serve with you.
Yours in the service of our Lord,
Interfaith Thanksgiving with Rodeph Sholom

We had a wonderful prayer service with our friends at Rodeph Sholom Monday evening, which is our annual tradition to do at Thanksgiving. Fr. Connelly preached a fine sermon and we enjoyed fellowship together afterwards.  An offering was collected to benefit Metropolitan Ministries.  Next year, St. John's has the honor of hosting this event which strengthens the bonds between the children of Abraham. We hope you will join us!
