Parish Breakfast and Sandwich Sunday This Week
Our monthly Parish Breakfast is this Sunday, December 15, the third Sunday of the month. The menu will be s crambled eggs, b acon and sausage, b iscuits, g ravy,  hash brown casserole with veggies, j uice, and coffee. Join us!

Sandwich Sunday will also take place on the 15th. Join us in the Parish Hall after the 9:15 a.m. service to help make sandwiches and bag lunches for the patrons at Faith Café. Thanks to our hosts this month, the Witte family!
Fr. Bob Elliott's Birthday Celebration

There was a wonderful celebration for Fr. Elliott's 95th birthday this past Saturday, with guests from all over.  Father Bob has been a sailor, priest, husband, father, and so much more! Happy birthday, Father Elliott!
Advent Lessons and Carols

Advent Lessons and Carols filled the congregation with great joy as these pictures of happy faces at the reception afterwards show.  Thanks to Simon Morley and the choir and all the excellent readers for their labor, and to the Stones and the rest of the Holy Hospitality team for preparing the reception!
Vestry, Clergy, and Staff Get Together!

Rick and Tweed Eckhard hosted a lovely Advent party on Sunday for the vestry, clergy, and staff and their guests. A lovely holiday time to get together and visit outside regular business hours, thanks to the Eckhards and co-hosts India Witte and Heddy Brown!
Christmas Lessons and Carols
A Service of Christmas Lessons and Carols with the Holy Eucharist will take place on Sunday, December 22. Music will be of Philip Stopford, John Tavener, and Benjamin Britten. This service takes the place of our usual 9:15 and 11:15 a.m. services (the 8:00 a.m. service will take place as usual). A special Holy Hospitality reception will follow.

Moms Meet Up Next Thursday: New Date and Location
Update: The Moms Meet Up group will now meet on Thursday, December 19 , at 8:45 a.m. at Sarah Bricklemyer's house (3207 West Palmira Avenue). This will be a fun Christmas celebration complete with yummy treats! They will still have their regular Nooma lesson. This month's topic will be the lure of "busy-ness," and how we can strive to prioritize the things that we truly care about. The group will watch  Shells  from the Nooma video series.  Click here for a preview. They  hope that everyone can join them!

Tacky Christmas Party
Our annual EYC Tacky Christmas Party and White Elephant Gift Exchange will be on Sunday, December 15 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at Discovery House (combined 6th through 12th graders)! Come in your tackiest Christmas outfit with a fun or wacky WRAPPED Christmas present worth no more than $10 to $15. Friends as always, are welcome!

Advent Meditation Resources
This year there are two Advent meditation books available for your use during the season.  One is O Wisdom, which was very popular last year, and the other is The Wondrous Mystery.  Feel free to take one or both home with you. They are available at various locations around the church or from the Parish Offices.

Hospital Visitation

We want to provide support during your time of need. However, because health regulations prohibit the clergy from being informed when our parishioners are in the hospital, we will not know if you or someone you love is there unless you tell us. We want to provide support in any time of need or crisis. Please call the parish offices at 259.1570 or  click here to email us to let us know when you need us.

Wednesday Nights in St. John's, 6:30 p.m., Parish Hall
On December 18, the Wednesday Nights group will see Christmas Child. The movie presents a heartwarming story of mystery and discovery based on Max Lucado's bestseller. As Christmas approaches, an enigmatic photograph draws journalist Jack Davenport to Clearwater, Texas, where he discovers an intricately carved nativity. Who made it and why? As he investigates, he uncovers secrets from his past---and a love who never left him. The movie stars Steven Curtis Chapman.
