Love INC: Ways You Can Help
St John's is a church partner of Love INC, an organization whose mission is to mobilize local churches to transform lives and communities in the name of Christ.

Here are just some of the ways you can help:

1. Roofer or contractor:  Love INC volunteers have been walking with a family over the last year coordinating a yard and home clean up, mentoring, and A/C repair which ultimately led to reunification between parent and children. The parent has been working hard to save a substantial contribution towards a new roof and is ready to move forward.  Love INC is looking for a roofer or contractor who can help this family.

2. Handypersons: Volunteers are needed to complete some minor repairs on a mobile home for a guest of Love INC. She is scheduled for hip and knee replacement surgery in August and these repairs are imperative for her to continue to live independently and age in place safely in her home.
  1. Secure her metal stair rail.
  2. Repair a broken latch on screen door located at the top of the stairs.
  3. Re-attach an awning to her trailer.
3. Help Center Volunteers: The Love INC Help Center is the foundation of its ministry and is solely staffed by trained volunteers. Additional volunteers are needed to fill available slots on Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. Office hours are from 9:00-1:00 and located in The Portico downtown. Volunteers can make their own schedule and can serve in all aspects of the Help Center.

If you feel you can assist in any of these roles, please reach out to Jennifer Agana at 222.5683 or jagana@loveinctampa.org to learn how you can get involved.

For more information, contact Deacon Kathleen at kmoore@stjohnstampa.org or 785.9400.

Dates Remain to Teach Summer Sunday School
Can you help teach St John's Summer Sunday School? For the summer, from now though September 8, St John's will have a "One-Room Schoolhouse" Sunday School format held in the Parish Hall during the 9:15 a.m. service (during the combined 10:00 a.m. service during the month of July). In addition to teaching the lesson, you will be responsible for bringing in an allergy-friendly snack for 10 to 15 people. It's a fun way for parents to get involved in a meaningful way (and to give our dedicated Sunday School teachers some much-needed rest!)

All lessons are available in the Parish Hall (organized by date) for you to prepare before your teaching day!

Hospital Visitation

We want to provide support during your time of need! However, because health regulations prohibit the clergy from being informed when our parishioners are in the hospital, we will not know if you or someone you love is there unless you tell us. We want to provide support in any time of need or crisis. Please call the parish offices at 259.1570 or  click here to email us to let us know when you need us.

If you have a pastoral emergency when the parish offices are closed, please call 906.5199.
