WORSHIP
JOIN US FOR WORSHIP | SUNDAYS AT 9:30 AM
Join us for Worship – Outdoors or Online – This Sunday at 9:30 AM!

This Sunday’s gospel story reminds us that great and persistent faith can bring about the change and healing we need! We’ll also be celebrating the baptism of Murphy McConnell, son of Molly & Tim McConnell.

Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets and join us for socially-distanced in-person worship. (Masks encouraged.) OR join us for online worship at www.facebook.com/polkcityumc.

Such large crowds gathered around Jesus that he climbed into a boat and sat down. The crowd stood on the shore waiting for His teaching. And so Jesus began to teach in parables. – Matthew 13:1-3
SUMMER STORIES
from the gospel of Matthew
A good story has a way of touching our hearts. From childhood on, we love to hear them! Jesus had a way of telling stories that were able to touch hearts, teach minds and transform lives. And the gospel writings of Matthew tell us stories about Jesus and his message of the coming Kingdom of God.
Join us for this summer worship series | July 19 - August 30

REMINDERS AND IOWA TOTAL CARE INFORMATION FROM THE DES MOINES AREA RELIGIOUS COUNCIL (DMARC) FOOD PANTRY WAREHOUSE

The Food Delivery Service continues from DMARC for residents in the Greater Des Moines area. Please call 1 833 362 -7220 between 9 and 12 Monday to Friday for an order for the next day. This service was started, during the Pandemic, for people that have no access to get food.

The free produce giveaway by Capital City Fruit will be Friday, August 28th from 10a-1pm(or as long as supplies last) at the Southridge Mall in Des Moines. Each recipient will receive 20 pounds of fruits and vegetables.

Iowa Total Care has assisted DMARC in many ways. It was at the above Capital City giveaway on August 14th to hand out kids activity books and information on their services. The company started July 1st, 2019 to serve children, pregnant women, families with children, elderly and adults and children with disabilities. They are committed to providing solutions for Medicaid beneficiaries across Iowa. The partnership between DMARC and Iowa Total Care is great. In the past year, Iowa Total Care donated $10,000 for food purchase, $10,000 for diapers, $5,000 for personal care items and $5,000 sponsorship of DMARC's Spring Greens event. Such a wonderful organization!

If you would like to help DMARC in their many areas, money is appreciated as their number one donation since they can buy more with our money than we can. Please visit our website for giving options: polkcityumc.org/give. Checks may be written to Polk City United Methodist Church with "DMARC Food Pantry" in the memo. If you have any questions, please contact Linda Pennington (DMARC Delegate)  penningtonl@q.com

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR REMEMBERING THOSE IN NEED!!!!

Thank you for all that you do!!
