Ring the Bell
Our church is joining other churches around the world in ringing our church bell at 8pm every night as an act of prayer and solidarity during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We ring our bell to honor all of the essential workers in our communities, and to join people of all faiths around the world in prayer for all those who are ill, those who are grieving the loss of loved ones, and who are going above and beyond to help others during the outbreak of this disease.

We're looking for individuals and families to take turns ringing the bell each night. If you would like to sign up, please sign up here:

Some Good News - Stories of Resurrection and Hope
Easter Worship Series: April 19 - May 31
With the covid-19 pandemic shutting down schools, restaurants and "non-essential" businesses, forcing us all to stay home, no less causing tremendous illness, suffering, fear and even death, we could all use some good news!

Join us for an online worship series about the stories of Jesus' resurrection appearances, as well as stories from around our community where we have seen God!

Sundays at 10:30 a.m. on Facebook Live: facebook.com/polkcityumc

Be sure to visit our online worship page to download a bulletin, request prayers, make your offering, and find links for children's activities: polkcityumc.org/online-worship
Share your good news with us!
Where have you seen God at work during this time of pandemic?

Where have you experienced faith that has gotten you through times of doubt or fear?

Where have you witnessed acts of love and kindness in your family, through your work, or in the community?

We want to share #SomeGoodNews each week as part of our online worship. So send your stories, your photos & your videos to Pastor Melody. Those collected by Thursday each week will be shared in Sunday's worship: melody.webb@polkcityumc.org
Updates from the DMARC Food Pantry
When businesses closed and unemployment rose this March, due to sheltering in place for Covid- 19, four times the amount of new clients increased since the first two weeks of March. First time users accounted for 16% of everyone who used the Network in March. There was also a rise in the number of people who visited a Mobile Pantry location in the last two weeks in March. Over 1,000 people visited a Mobile Pantry site with 252 being new. 18,729 people were assisted total by the DMARC Food Pantry network in March 2020. This is an 11.8% increase over March of 2019.

The demand keeps increasing in this uncertain time. Please consider helping by donating through our church's electronic site ( polkcityumc.org/give) or making a check out to Polk City United Methodist Church and in the memo put DMARC food pantry.
