October 3-7th, 2022
This week begins and ends with a healing story. In between are a song of praise for God’s goodness to us (Psalm) and instructions to proclaim God’s word faithfully.
Monday, October 3
2 Kings 5:1-3, 7-15c
In this passage Naaman has to let go of his pride and follow the directions of Elisha to be healed, even though those directions don’t make sense to him.  How often are we tempted to walk away from God’s directions for our lives because of pride or because they don’t make sense to us?.

Tuesday, October 4
Psalm 111
The Psalm is a Hymn of Praise and Thanksgiving, in which the singer gives thanks for God’s goodness in delivering him/her from various life-threatening situations such as illness, oppression, or enemy attack.

Wednesday, October 5
2 Timothy 2:8-15
Though Paul is chained as a prisoner, the word of God is never shackled or confined. Timothy is encouraged to proclaim that word of freedom in an honest and upright life as well as in his teaching and preaching. (Courtesy of Sundays and Seasons)

 Thursday, October 6
Luke 17:11-19
Jesus was making people clean throughout of his ministry here on earth. In this passage he heals 10 lepers. Only one returns to thank him. Do you remember to thank God when you are healed or made clean?
