Health & Wellness
SEPSIS and the Flu
We have all been more than inundated with information about this year's dangerous flu, but are you aware of all that can result from contracting this year's flu? Health experts aren't sure why this year is different than others, but it is now evident that it can be deadly and taking precautions could save a life. Get your flu shot-although the flu vaccination isn't likely to be as effective this year as in the past, it's still very important. The flu can weaken the immune system which leaves people of all ages more vulnerable to serious infections. One of the complications of these infections is called SEPSIS and has been mentioned often during this year's flu epidemic. Severe sepsis strikes more than a million Americans every year and 15 to 30 percent of those people die. Click here to find out what you need to know.

Member Tips, Tools & Press Releases
Gresham-Barlow School District - School Bond Update
Historic doors to return in Gresham High School reconstruction. Click here to find out the role of a former GHS art teacher played in making this happen.

Doterra - Tabitha Wolz - Essential Oil Tips
It's never too late for romance. Set the mood with low light, diffuse your favorite mood oil (cinnamon or clary sage) and cozy up to your "Other" or a lovely glass of wine. Splurge for a new movie or reminisce with an old.

Norwex - Kathy Hill - Chemical Free Tips
This is a fun Norwegian fact: In 2017, Norway became the first country to turn off FM radio and switch completely to digital. I wonder what folks listen to? Do they have all music stations?

Average ER wait times are more than double those of Urgent Care clinics. Health tip: Choose Urgent Care for non-life threatening illnesses and injuries. You'll receive treatment quickly without breaking the bank.

Portland General Electric - Renewable Power
We're aiming for an energy mix that's 70% carbon free by 2040. Soon, even more of your power will come from renewable resources. The Oregon Public Utility Commission has given the green light to our plan for meeting the region's need for clean, reliable and affordable energy needs in the near and longer-term future. Click here to learn more about our plans for a responsible, diverse energy mix.
