Mindful Educators: Mental Health Foundations

WISP is providing a free training that will increase basic understanding of mental health, reduction of stigma, address community supports and increase awareness on how to access mental health supports in the Contra Costa Community.


Featuring special guest, Patrick Turner.

Patrick is the Wellness Center Coordinator at Acalanes High School and has been featured at mental health awareness conferences as a keynote speaker addressing student anxiety in the classroom. He is passionate about supporting youth and creating inclusive and safe spaces for growth and development.

Suicide Prevention Training

A free training for administrators, teachers, mental health support staff, and direct service providers from District School Sites and County Office of Education.


What Will You Learn:

  • Strategies and tools needed to nurture the mental health of students and help reverse the trend of the suicide rate.
  • The risk factors and warning signs of suicide.
  • How to respond to youth who are at risk for suicide and connect them to appropriate resources.
  • How to create a supportive environment for all youth that promote resiliency and decrease the risk of suicide.
