Plays flute in Wesleyan Band

KW1101 leader (freshmen orientation)

Thoughts from Lydia and her professors

"I looked at other private Kentucky colleges, but I chose Wesleyan because I knew the great reputation of their Science Department, and it is even better than I realized."

"My professors are challenging, and they push . . . but it is because they care and want us to succeed."

"Band is challenging, too . . . and fun, lots of fun! I joined the Wesleyan drumline when I was a high school junior, and Professor Pederson encouraged me to apply to Wesleyan. It was the right thing

 to do."

"Lydia is taking advantage of many opportunities to be involved on campus and is developing leadership skills that will serve her for a lifetime. She is very committed and dedicated to her studies, and she is preparing well for life after Wesleyan - that pleases me."

Dr. W. L. Magnuson

Professor of Chemistry

Program Director of Chemistry

"Lydia looked at multiple small colleges and chose Wesleyan because she found what she

needed - high quality science and band programs. She is an outstanding student academically and musically, and I know she will be an excellent anesthesiologist someday. I hope she keeps

playing the flute, too!"

Professor Steven Pederson

Director of Bands
