"Girl Talk" Women's Book Group
Thursday, March 14, 10:00 a.m.
in the Ruth Christie Room
Join us for a discussion of Mudbound by Hillary Jordan. You may have seen the movie of this award-winning book. It is a portrait of two families caught up in the blind hatred of a small Southern town where prejudice takes many forms - some subtle, some ruthless. This book has been chosen by the New Castle County Libraries Reads program for an evening with the author in April at the Chase Center. Join the women of our book group for a discussion of our own on Thursday, March 14, at 10:00 a.m. in the Ruth Christie Room. Newcomers are always welcome!

Calling All Caregivers of Children - Parents and Grandparents!
Sunday, April 7, 10:10 a.m. in Classroom 5
Facilitated by Yvonne Nass
Join us for a lively discussion on how to approach the topic of race with our children and/or grandchildren. At some time in every child's life, they will have to deal with racism either personally or inadvertently. Will they be equipped as children of God to understand what is happening? Let's share our experiences as caregivers on how to best equip one another by talking about race and the implications on children's lives. All are welcome to join us on April 7 as we embark on a journey of exploring ways to empower each other as parents/grandparents, with openness and respect.

News to Note
Grow Your Own Food
"How?" you ask. By signing up for a raised bed garden plot here at the church. Plots are available, and the cost is $25. The only restriction is that the garden is organic. Compost is available to refresh your bed. There is no need to water because there is an underground irrigation system. The gardening season is the beginning of April until the first of December. Once beds are assigned, feel free to plant. Come join your friends and neighbors and enjoy locally grown food. Applications are at the reception desk.
Tower Hill Students Help WPC Feed the Hungry
Last fall, about 12 students from Tower Hill School created and sold ceramic tree ornaments (with a food theme) and donated the sales to a local organization of their choice who provides meals. They chose the Wilmington Breakfast Club, a Westminster-funded ministry! The students made about $90. Many thanks to the students and teachers at Tower Hill for this wonderful gift.
Attention: Comcast.net Email Users
We are aware that some Comcast.net email users are not receiving emails from the Westminster staff (from @wpc.org). This has been a known issue for several years. We have discovered that Comcast.net has strict spam control measures that sometimes inadvertently mark WPC as spam and block our emails from being received by you (the Comcast user). Although we strive to implement "best practices" in email communications, unfortunately we have no control over Comcast's spam definitions and algorithm. We encourage anyone not receiving emails from WPC to contact Comcast Customer Support at (800) 934-6489 or their Security Assurance department at (888) 565-4329. Please let them know that you are not receiving emails from the wpc.org domain and would like wpc.org to be added to their whitelist.

Good Company

Experience has prepared us to be with others in their moments of sorrow. Grief needs company, especially companions with experience. Good, beauty, truth - let us look for these. Let us turn toward the light and, if we can, if it is within our means, let us point others toward the light. But let us remember that we, too, need guidance. We need to let others point us toward the light, for we are human. Experience has prepared others to be with us in our moments of sorrow. If we can, if it is within our means, let us accept their company, especially those with experience.
