"Draw Near" Advent Devotionals Available
Advent means "coming," and is the name given to the four weeks leading to Christmas. During Advent, the church awaits the birth of the Christ child and prepares for Christ's coming. We hope you will mark this season of preparation through worship, as well as through personal prayer and reflection at home. There are Advent Devotionals, published by the creative minds at A Sanctified Art, available to guide you in this practice. You can pick one up at the Advent Workshop on December 2 or from the literature table in the main upstairs hallway.

These new gloves and mittens, for men, women and children, will be distributed to those in need through Friendship House's Empowerment Centers. These gloves/mittens need to be new, but they do not need to be expensive. Big box stores, grocery stores, Harbor Freight, drug stores and dollar stores all have inexpensive, practical gloves and mittens. Collection will take place on Sundays in January. Watch for the colorful mitten reminders around WPC after the first of the year!

These films are compelling and enlightening, providing meaningful grounds for reflection and conversation.

  • GREEN BOOK
A comedy-drama film about a tour of the Deep South in the 1960s by African-American jazz pianist Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali) and Tony Vallelonga (Viggo Mortensen), a white Italian-American bouncer who served as Shirley's driver and security.
Garden Openings
It is time to put the Clayton Street Community Garden to bed for the year. This year end brings us several openings for gardeners. We wanted to give you the opportunity to sign up now so that you are ready to join us is the spring. We begin organizing in March and planting in April. There can't be more locally grown produce than that grown in your own garden plot.
