The Westshore Alliance in support of the Tampa Bay Rays ballpark and redevelopment proposal

The Westshore Alliance supports the Tampa Bay Rays ballpark and redevelopment proposal. The project will have a significant impact on Drew Park and the Westshore District and will reverberate throughout Tampa Bay. We encourage the Tampa City Council and Hillsborough County Commission to support the proposal.

Public-private investments are necessary to facilitate new infrastructure and economic development in Westshore and across the region. The scale of the Rays proposal warrants such a public investment. Since our letter of support in May, the Rays proposal has reduced the public portion of the funding. The project now includes additional infrastructure projects and public oversight to the Community Benefits Agreement.

It is a reflection on our business climate if we do not support investments in our community, public or private. It is worth it to make this investment.
